    Default Superman, Trailer II

The first trailer for the new Superman was pretty nice, heavy on ambiance and mood -but showed us very little of the movie. This trailer, now... this trailer is of a movie I really want to see.

I generally prefer Marvel characters and story lines... but I'm also a kid for whom Christopher Reeve's Superman was one of the first movies I can recall seeing on the big screen. I believed a man could fly. Seeing Superman on the big screen is just magic for me. And this trailer hit all the right notes. My hopes for the movie are raising

That was pretty sweet. Fingers crossed that the world doesn't end in 10 days so I can go see this next summer!

It will be interesting to see how Zack Snyder pulls of a "darker" version of Supes without crossing over into Dark Knight territory. I've always thought most portrayals of the character lack depth. Not that he needs to be "darker" per se, but the whole Big, Blue Boy Scout routine leaves little room for growth or development. I think All-Star Superman has come as close to any story (moreso than the overrated "Death Of" series fiasco) in showing how such could be accomplished without drastically changing the character. Even that, in the end, simply reverted to his Mosaic/Messianic roots to save the day.

    We will see...

Have you seen the Richard Donner cut of Superman II?

This one looks a lot better than the last attempt.

Kind of like this? JLU-Destroyer Push up to about 11:25 to see the best parts and defintitely watch the part near the end (around 16:00) where Superman hits Darkseid so hard it makes a sonic boom (and it still doesn't drop him).

I'll be there on opening night because Superman was one of my childhood's favorite movies. However, no amount of special effects and Dolby surround sound will make this rise above Christopher Reeve's Superman movies, at least in my mind. This seems focused much more for adults than it does for children. Like the OP, I had goosebumps watching the Superman movies as a kid. Not sure I'd be so blown away as a kid if this was my first look at Superman.

We'll see how it goes, I'm sure it will be a big hit, and a fun movie to watch, but it aint beating the Superman movies I grew up watching.

    I like!

Campy poorly drawn out character development appears to have finally been abandoned. I will make it a point to see this. Thanks for sharing!

Still don't like that they dropped the red briefs from the costume but still wanting to see flick. At Chris was superman for me at least as far as the first two movies were concerned I try to forget III and IV and yeah Marvel is better than DC and comics or movies and I hated Bale as Batman and the poor late Ledger as the Joker.

Keaton was my favorite of this generation's Batman movies. Nichelson made a great Joker... but the original TV show characters were it for me. Ceasar Romera (Joker) , Burgess Meridith (Penguin), & Frank Gorshi (Riddler) were the best.

The animated stuff from the 90's and 00's is ten times better than any of the live action movies.

People bag on Zach Snyder but he's one of my top 5 directors. I like how he takes content and turns it on it's head and slathers it with his slo mo awesomesauce visual style.

I will dig this rendition of superman without a doubt.

All the bad boy legends -- same Bat time, same Bat station. (above)

And let's not forget "the real" Supes, George Reeves as Superman and the cast of the original TV Show. (below)
