melee alacrity

I'm thinking of crafting it to one of my weapons. I don't fully understand it yet. If I am to understand correctly, It makes me fight faster.
Is it as fast as taking a haste pot?
Will it work if I put it on my offhand weapon?
Any other suggestions of a weapon enhancement that goes good with it?
but most important, Is it worth it?

Absolutely worth it.

It's not quite as much of a boost as Haste (haste being 15%) and it won't stack either, but it's on all the time. Basically, it makes your attacks that much faster.

I like to put it on a trinket instead of a weapon, myself. I can't remember if the basic shard goes on anything else, but there are flexible shards available at later levels.

I'd like to put it on something else, but I can't craft the flexible one yet. Actually I can't even craft the basic one, but I bought one on the AH.

Craft it on a trinket, and add mobility (assuming you don't have the feat).

That 2% dodge might just save you one day!

I've got the blood stone right now as my trinket. Would melee alacrity be better?

Some back of the napkin calculations says that if you are are using scimitar/falchion/kopesh, have improved critical, and are doing more than ~36 damage a swing alacrity is better.

If you are using a weapon with a worse crit profile and/or you don't have improved critical, the amount of base damage per swing you have to do to make melee alacrity better is lower.

There are plenty of places of offhand seeker nowadays, but only Jorgundal's collar and crafted melee alacrity trinkets for off-weapon melee alacrity as far as I know.

The mobility addition is great advice as well. Every bit of dodge helps.

Fabricators gauntlets have 10%.

Madstone rage is also 10%, but you have to wait for it to proc or use the once per rest clicky, so might not be reliable source if you are incorporeal, blured and running around with 100 ac. but for most builds its a good source assuming you arent a caster.

Great idea. I've been wondering what to do with my alacrity trinket.
