Default Maximize? Quicken? What are you carrying now?

So, about to TR into a bard on one of my characters, and it's been a while. Looking at the build notes I'd made a while back didn't seem to jive with today's game so much. I've spun up a few lowbie alts to try out different basics, and while I'm pretty clear on the core of what I want to do, I'm unsure on some final feats.

    Specifically, Quicken and Maximize.

How many bards are carrying Maximize for healing anymore, as opposed to packing on the potency ... esp for melee-ish bards?

How many are carrying Quicken, or not bothering?

I'm mostly interested in how folks running bards who mix it up a bit in melee are finding it working in the Eveningstar content. I've not run a bard in any of it. I'm leaning towards fitting in Quicken but ditching Maximize; would love to hear some pros/cons.

I use quicken, but not maximize, on my feat-starved pure khopesh bard (Roq Star).

I like quicken because it gives me fast-cast on Otto's Irresistible Dance and those nice raid hastes.

My motivations are mostly selfish. I have super high healing amplification, so I can keep myself up with a weak cure critical, and I rely on heal scrolls and rejuvination cocoon. Basically, I'd rather have a guarantee that the spell will work than have the spell be more potent.

However, I am not an adequate raid healer, because my cures hit for only about 150 each. Still, I like having quicken over maximize, because if someone needs that quick save, I can throw it.

I'm having great results, and I'm glad I picked up quicken and rejuvination cocoon. But if I was not so hard melee focused, I would take maximize in a heartbeat. I did not because (a) I don't have the feats unless I change to spellsinger, and (b) I have only 800 SP because I don't wear spell point items. A bard can still heal **** near everything with quicken and maximize.

    Thanks.

I'm strongly leaning towards quicken - taking both really dilutes some other aspects of what I hope to do. I'm not aiming for raid healing - just solid "in a pinch" - and will be on a Virt or War Chanter platform anyway.

Reality is - I'm trying to do too much and I need to cut something.
