Shade had this right all along. You want valuable loot you make more powerful loot in certain situations not more powerful loot all around. You just run out of desirable items really fast if everything is a best in slot thing or everything is just a mishmash of abilities.
While the statement that follows is very true, you really don't need to give Shade the credit. Might as well give him credit for batman builds or the sun rising. Some things are just obvious (at least to anyone that doesn't work for Turbine).

I agree with this though I still like Gianthold but we need more endgame raids and some new lowbie stuff so the TR´s will get some variety.

I personally feel if there wasn't a Tier III to GS, it would be almost perfect where it is. I have two 1/2 way done Khopeshs I'm using for my rogue life, and they're impressive enough that I don't want to switch to anything else at this level, but not so amazing I wouldn't consider swapping to something that may be better in a certain scenario.

    Obviously this cannot work now...but...

    /disagree (kinda)

I think epic gianthold is one of turbine's best moves as of late. personally, I haven't looked forward to something this much in quite a while. not everyone has farmed it as much as you. and while it would be really nice a see a new raid in FR (idk why we need 3 tho, but whatever happens, no more escort missions!), I think the game could benefit from revisiting some more old content, even if it's already epic, and just balancing it out. epic sands is the first example that comes to mind as the vast majority of the epic loot out there is so outdated, it's almost pointless to run anymore. nothing needs to change about the quests themselves. but the motivation (loot) needs to improve. doesn't necessary need to be in the immediate future. (and from the sounds of turbine's plans, it won't be and that's okay) i would just hate the see the old stuff get neglected. so YES YES YES to epic gianthold and YES YES YES to a quality, worthwhile FR raid afterward.

Fair enough gina. Seems alot of people are looking forward to this so.dont want to rain on their parade but i personally have no interest in vale or gianthold epic. Or really anything in eberron. Gianthold was the first pack i bought 3 years ago when i.started playing and the vale second. I have run these to death so really just want new quests. Eberron or FR.

As to why 3 raids. I like options. Vale pack is the pinnacle of ddo packs to me. 3 nice raids cool side quests and great loot crafting system. I would love to see this quality a pack in the FR setting with the nicer graphics FR brings. I already like what has been presented in FR would just lkke to see a home run vale like pack out there.

I am really looking forward to epic GH. It's a post-FR epic in Eberron, and hopefully scaled in proportion. I also never have got excited about the drow storyline or the new quests. A chance to get comparable loot without seeing drow is appealing.

I only dread the fact how much loot there is, so hoping for a small bone from Turbine like the Sands scroll swap system.

I think the reason people want epic GH is because of two things: loot and nostalgia. The loot in GH is amazing. I ended up using my white dragonplate armor all the way until lvl 20. Having epic versions would just be awesome. And nostalgia, because GH is a solid pack. Good storyline (IMO) and the quests are fun (except crucible). Only thing I am dreading is epic crucible. Because more than likely, the devs will make crucible vital to run for some reason.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no such thing as a Green Steel Greatclub, is there? Or has this been added?
I made an RPing club wielding dorf barbarian back in the day, so that's the only reason I remember that. Greensteel Maul is only option I know of for 2h bludgeoning.

True the Greatclub was not craftable, but did drop during the festivals, so there are some out there.

Point being there are 38 craftable weapons and 8 craftable gear slots with multiple desirable permutations that can be crafted to suit a players personal build and usable for a large portion of a players life cycle right through to endgame.

Cannith crafting was a step in the right direction, Epic crafting is what I desire to see.

They made it too good for it's time - so good they've been afraid to do anything significant since.

I'm bored with Greensteel, and have been for a long time. I'd be happy if we just moved on, or at least didn't fall back on the GS crutch for future loot. I'd frankly rather see the game evolve then reheat the leftovers of the past. And I'd love to see the Devs have the balls to make something that'd shake up loot a bit more then they have.
Greensteel weapons are no longer even remotely competitive at endgame except for triple positives and very niche things (elemental absorb sticks). Accessories, OTOH, are still too good.

Still, the Epic Shroud that got accidentally pushed onto Lamannia was a LOT of fun, and this is coming from someone that is burned out on Shroud. If it were polished a bit I could see it being a top-notch release.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.
