    Default Mabar next year

I do enjoy the Mabar event when it comes around. The main problem for me is when you finally get to fight the dragon, often the lag monster gets you. It appears if you're in one of the first groups to make it in the instance your experience is virtually lag free. The other groups starts to experience the lag when the fighting begins and it lasts until they lose and are ejected or other groups start to kill dragons and are no longer fighting in instances.

The solution seems to be avoiding having everyone fighting the dragon at the same time. A way to accomplish this is to have first tier instances fight the dragon after waiting 5 minutes, second tier instances waits 10 minutes, they could use the extra time for the group to fill anyway. This will at least split the amount of action happening at once in half.

Interesting thought. I know every time I have run it (the Dragon) this year (about 10 times - 6 EPIC, 4 mid level runs), I have entered the instance within 10 seconds or so of the door opening and failed to have any real lag issues any of those time. (9 win, 1 loss on EPIC when a number of the levers got overwhelmed and taken out, leading to an alter destruction soon there after).

With an early filled group, that means the timer starts counting down pretty quickly, so I know that a couple of times we were likely finished before some other instances even got started. (Seriously a couple of times the Dragon lasted under 2 minutes.)

The other possible impact could be excessive lever flipping to spawn gargoyles.

Whatever, it was mostly fun this go round, but there is also a saturation effect where almost all of my characters who wanted items now have them (and the next level up stashed in the bank too). They should really think about added something completely new to the potential rewards list to draw back in people in my shoes next year. Perhaps something for the Boot or a Ring slot, or even more thematic, a witches hat! A quarterstaff with a Broom graphic overlay on it would be real cool as well. Stuff you can see on the character has a lot of appeal to make, even if it is not the best item for the slot.

Lag doesnt come from the dragon, it come from the public instances all open in Delera's graveyard, make delera's graveyard rivate instances with level selection like the Cannith Challenges!!!

I have yet to lag in the public area outside of the summoning chamber. I have noticed if I'm one of the first into the door when it opens It will be a lag free experience. Otherwise the lag starts at the moment the dragon shows up. Most of the time we can't move and the dragon is free to escape. Yesterday I went in with a lower level 13 character and even though the lag started we were able to keep the dragon and gargoyles at bay with cc/summons etc.. After about 4 minutes the lag abruptly stopped and we easily killed the dragon.

I don't know what causes the lag in the summoning chamber but for whatever reason it's unsolvable by the devs. More of an observation than a criticism. My suggestion is a hopeful workaround so finding the solution won't be necessary.
