    Default Need build help

    32 point, human. planning of acid savage. maybe acid\cold?
    prefer solo style.

    need some help with stats:
    do I need 3rd skill (int10-12), or can I take cha 18 and con 18?
    do I need str 10?

    skills: concentration, UMD. Do I need to take tumble 1? at 1st lvl? if yes, instead of what skill?

    spells: too many of them, hard to understand which should I take =)

    same for feats/enhancements.

    could you please help me?

    I read a lot of similar posts, but mostly they describe fire or cold savage builds. Also, it it really hard to find up-to-date info when I see that many topics.

    1 less Concentration will not make much difference. 1 less UMD can make a significant difference, but it is not a "need" thing. It's a question of what you get more out of, +1 Con bonus or some split of +3 to Strength and Intel. Personally I find 10 build points is plenty for Con on arcanes.

    Spell-wise, you should take the best spells. Don't be scared off by your caster level penalty; Eladar's Electric Surge should still be in your spell book. You get (16 + 1d6) instead of (20 + 1d6), you'll never notice the difference.

    Feat-wise, I like...
    Maximize
    Heighten
    Empower
    Spell Focus: Conjuration or Evocation
    Spell Pen
    Greater Spell Pen
    Epic Spell Pen
    Toughness
    Quicken
    As a human you'd get one more, if you're low gear you may want to give SF: UMD a look.

    Enhancement-wise, you need 7/5/5 in one element to qualify for tier 3 of your PrE, so for you that's Acid. You can go to 7/6/6 but it doesn't make much difference. You also need one of I-Maximize 2 and I-Empower 2: I-Max is same cost and more benefit, do I-Max. (The other Improved Metamagics are not very good.)

    It's a very, very, very good idea to get up to 7/1/1 in another element. I'm a big fan of Cold.

    Getting at least 1/1/1 in Electric will serve you well. Eladar's is just that powerful.

    The 14 AP you can spend on Charisma is expensive but worth it.

    Your spells will likely change over time. At levels 1-5 or maybe even a bit higher you'll want those first level damage spells, but eventually they will get over shadowed and you can swap them out for low level buffs, many of which keep their utility. Fortunately they let you swap spells for a reasonable price so you can change them to something more suitable if you decide what you have doesn't fit your style or just isn't effective with your build/gear.

    In the end I'd recommend something like this:

    1st - night shield, prot vs evil, jump, either magic missile (for cheap spell you can cast using echoes) or hypnotism (to aid your higher level mind affecting spells) *start off with acid spray and Niac's and swap out later*
    2nd - resist energy, web, blur, knock (note: buffs can be scrolled if you don't mind the hassle and expense to make room for other spells, but I don't recommend it for level2 spells as you will cast them often)
    3rd - haste, rage, displacement, acid blast/frost lance (can skip haste/rage but I don't recommend it)
    4th - acid rain, ice storm, d-door, fire shield/repair critical (d-door and fire shield can be scrolled)
    5th - Niac's, Eladar's, teleport (again, can be scrolled)/mind fog, cyclonic blast/cloudkill
    6th - Otiluke's, disintegrate, any of circle of death, greater heroism (can be scrolled), reconstruct (if WF)
    7th - finger, Otto's, mass protection
    8th - is tough... black dragon bolt and/or polar ray for sure, then tough choice between mass charm, Otto's, Symbol of death, Trap the Soul, and summon monster VIII, pick any 1/2 depending on flavor and strengths of build
    9th - wail, mass hold monster, meteor swarm/energy drain

    Welcome. So many ways to build it... I like to drop Con to 14-16 (depending on whether you can get to an even number) and take more INT. Nice to get sone extra points for balance, but maybe that is just me. This life I am trying a slightly lower INT for more CON...

    ...And I usually use a Blood of Dragons to swap spell sets while leveling...
