Default Post to "Technical Assistance" throwing an error?

I'm trying to make a post to this forum, but it keeps failing with an error

    "Method Not Implemented
    POST to /newthread.php not supported."

I tried making the same post to MyDDO and that threw the same error, so I'm thinking maybe it's a problem with the post itself and really poor error handling.

So has anybody seen this before, and can you tell me what causes it? Is it the length of the post? Are there some combinations of punctuation that confuse it?

And of course, this post is testing the theory that it is a problem with the post, because if I get an error with this tiny vanilla post I know it's just that the forum is completely broken

OK, I can preview this post, which the other could not, so any ideas what about a post makes it throw that error?

If I remember correctly, this has something to do with the configuration file of the forums. Some piece of text in your original post was causing the error. Look especially for sets of symbols in text to find what might be setting it off.

The software used by this forum (and others) has certain security settings and sometimes strings of text in our posts can trigger the error by being read either incorrectly (or even correctly) as phrases that are blocked because they have been part of malicious postings in the past that could compromise forum or server security.

At least that's what I've read in the past. Offhand I can't think of any examples but I'm sure someone else will remember some....

Thanks, I'll try breaking it into chunks and see if I can isolate the chunk that causes problems. I'll post back with what I discover.

It sure would be nice if the error message was even remotely related to the problem, though. Sigh. I guess it's just another puzzle to solve.

Thanks, Xilth, and another +1 to you (ARGH, "you must spread reputation before giving to Xilth again", well you get my thanks, anyway)

That did the trick for me, though I bolded etc with the b inside square brackets before and /b in square brackts after instead of prefixing an asterisk.
