Default ETA on fixing the level range on LFM?

I have no idea why I haven't see any post about this before, personally I think this is the most outrageous bug I've ever seen, and I have no idea how anyone can just live with it.
Not being able to adjust the level range on the LFM makes all the parties I've seen to fill a LOT slower (Except maybe for caught in the web...)
If anything deserves an immediate hotfix it's this issue...

I never complain about anything, but this is really just too much...

This bug is quite easy for me to live with, but then again I rarely pug anymore. Honestly though, you can just specify the level range in the description, and it accomplishes the same thing, so I can see how this isn't on the "fix it right ******* now list".

I do specify exactly what levels can join my groups, but many people turn off the "Show me groups I am not eligible for" and they don't even see that to begin with.

It's not exactly difficult to turn that feature off until the bug gets fixed, if people actually care about it anyway. I understand how annoying this can be, I just don't think it is the most important thing that needs to be fixed right now. I would much prefer a rapid fix to the mobs jumping through walls which can prevent quest completion.

I for one personally hope they get to work on this pronto. I know there is an easy fix around, but the OP has a point. Sure you can post what levels you are looking for in the notes, but people do use that filter feature. Yes, we could turn the filter off, but then you are getting rid of a tool they put there to make our lives easier.

Plus, it is ugly. The level range boxes are not completely gone. On my client, everytime I log in, there is a small scrap of the wording for the level range and boxes left. It LOOKS broken. It's aesthetically displeasing.

I recently convinced a friend to come back to the game. 3 hour of questing, we fail missions twice because of enemies clipping into the air or walls and becoming unkillable, out in The Sands adventure pack, a wall ate me and I fell for a good 10 minutes before getting recalled to a tavern. The LFM LOOKED broken, and NOT A SINGLE GROUP in our level range was on.

It was a TERRIBLE reintroduction to a game that has made AWESOME improvements lately and is really fun.

But the OP is right. This needs to be fixed. Regardless of how easy it is to work around, it's a commonly used mechanic and system in the game, and it LOOKS OBVIOUSLY broken. It represents the quality of our game, and the health of our community.

Are there other things that need to be fixed? Yes, of course, like monsters clipping into things.

But that does not change the fact that LFM is a basic part of our game, clearly broken. It's not our fault more important things need attention. That's not an excuse, that's ANOTHER REASON people would want to stay away from the game. It ALL should be fixed on a reasonable time, but we are constantly expected to "adapt" and "work around" the issues presented to us.

Which is valid, I am more than happy to work around things and play, rather than complain. But the LENGTH and DURATION I must continue to IMPROVISE with each bug is outrageous. This bug has been around much too long. A week acceptable.

Keep in mind, the code base for this game is extremely complex simply because it is an MMO. Add on to that all of the changes in staff working on the code, and the number of times that the game has been updated, and the coding becomes incredibly complex. This means that rapid fixes are realistically only going to happen for bugs that actually break the game, such as the hotfix for the game crashing bug we had a few days ago. Due to the nature of coding and software interaction, it is not only possible, but likely probable that the bug causing issues with the LFM panel is actually not related to LFM panel in any way, shape, or form. Remember the whole mushroom/door thing during cove last year?

Yes, it is an annoying bug that hinders the gameplay of people who use the LFM system. At least there is a way to work around this bug until the team manages to actually fix it. There are a lot of bugs that crop up that you can't work around if you run into them. Indignant demands that they fix something "right now" are not going to accomplish anything productive. Another thing to keep in mind, your definition of "a reasonable amount of time" probably does not match up with the dev team's definition, and certainly does match up with mine.

Look I am willing to defend them as well, and I have no doubt that their job is hard.

But this is not the place, or time to defend them. It is an impression that the game gives. That is pretty important. If you are coming in as my friend was, fresh and ready to experience what the game had to offer, and then came across all of these things, you wouldnt think

"Well, gee, I've enjoyed watching this game grow, and I know and acknowledge that they inherited bad code"

What if it was your name that cropped up incorrectly? Or the number in your stats were correct, but looked buggy like an old T.V static screen?

I am on board with this game, and give major props to the dev's and all of their work. But as other people have pointed out, this is a product, not a family. If the product looks broken, that is bad. End of story. We all know there is a ton else going on, but that doesn't really matter when it comes to keeping things functional, and at the very least LOOKING like it should.

I did not ask for them to wave a wand, and make everything fixed "right now."

The OP is asking for an ETA, that is not out of the question. And I remain steadfast in my opinion, that is something aesthetically appears broken in the game it reflects poorly on the condition of said game, and should be addressed as quickly as possible.
