Default Wine and DDO on Mountain Lion

Hi, trying to play on my macbook pro (10.8.2) with Wine 1.4 (Xquartz and Macports). Can install all just fine, patch the launcher (PYLotro) with no problems, but when i try to launch the game i get this error:

    Any ideas?

EDIT: looking around the forum I saw that is (sometimes) possible to overcome this with a patch... is it possible to patch my wine on a Mac?

    Thumbs down Yup

yup there is a bug out there.. and Have not been able to play ddo for a week now... Going into withdrawals.

The bug is in the latest DDO Update 16.. it breaks the pylotro client..
I am using Fedora 17 and Wine 1.5.16 and as soon as I did the update ...Wham Bam Thank You Mam dndclient.exe has committed a serious error.

Just waiting for the patch to hit the next Wine Release...Which I hope will be soon.

It is an issue with wine.

Git is already patched afaik... so the regular wine should be working soon.

Ofc, you can compile yourselves and play now

I would like to, but i don't know how on my mac without using Wineskin, and i would prefer not to use that for not messing too much with my Wine installation

LOL. It is, in a way, as being unable to play DDO means more nights at the pub^^

    Unhappy

Any update on this? I am using wineskin as well and saw that they posted the new wine build 1.5.18 yesterday, so i downloaded that and switched to it. Still getting the same error, which is unfortunate because all of the support threads I was following said that this patch would fix it.

The bug fix is in the latest wine development version that can be installed with macports.

See this thread for more info: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=388498&page=3

Very nice news, thank you! I'd give you rep, but apparently I just did somewhere else recently^^
