    Default Divine Shadow Tanking

Other than solid fog clickies, what are divines using to draw shadow aggro reliably?

I''ve done this a few times with just BB - but - the odd shadow will make it's save and sneak through causing headaches.

I mainly used BB and for the odd one that saved I'd throw a couple holy smites on nythirios to try to get its aggro.

I really hate leaving anything to chance. With blade barrier there's always the possibility of a shadow making it's save, rolling up the steps, catching a glancing blow and causing havoc.

If you're gonna wipe, that's where.

But if i'm looking at a sure fire way to draw aggro, i think my only option will be to carry along some solid fog clickies.

Obscuring mist doesn't draw aggro does it?

Obscuring mist will draw aggro. It will only get their attention so if someone in the party so much as farts on the shadow that will divert it's aggro.

Yeah. Back when I wanted to run this on Elite after U14 and it was fixed, I ran in Unyielding Sentinel and the one wipe we did have was when I had to quickly grab aggro because the original kiter died and someone had to step up. I threw a BB but even on a 40 DC one of them saved and that wiped the party. Next run we did I threw two BB's and that worked, but I must say that was hell on my spell points and my hit points. Even at about a thousand HP and an aura ticking off near 80 I still had problems with self healing. Only after I crafted a triple-absorbsion GS did I do it without much worries, and then I still had to make sure to get every shadow.

If I were to have a divine tank shadows on Elite, I'd recommend at least 800 HP and very good self healing, along with, at a bare minimum, a triple-absorbsion item. UMDing Fire Shield scrolls would work wonders coupled with an absorbsion item, and other things which increase resistance to cold are also recommended.
As a note, with 60 cold resistance and nothing else, in an Elite run, I was taking hits of about 200 cold damage from them.

Obscuring Mist would work. I'd toss a BB down too to get some hard aggro on you, though.

BYOH. Know it, abide by it, or don't mess with those who do.

Staying alive isn't an issue. In EA i have ~750 HP and use a rotation of capstone heal, protection from elements spam and the ED HOT. No UMD for fire shield, no greensteel item on this build - and it's not needed, even on elite [although i will probably twist in energy sheath from draconic when i get enough points].

It's keeping everyone else alive that's the problem - to do that i have to keep the shadows off the party.

I was hoping divines had something innate that i could use - but - in the end it'll be a combo of solid fog clickies for guaranteed aggro/reflex save debuff and BB.

Bit of a hassle, but it's far from the end of the world.

Heh, funny you should mention Solid Fog and BB.

I don't use either one by itself, as I use both together. Haven't had a problem with it, though it's been a few months and a few TRs since I've been on a divine.
