    Default Extra long Logout

Not sure if this is right spot but anyway.

I have a few toons, a few more than 10, but there are 2 that take a very log time to logout, maybe 2 minutes. This happens on both loging out to the character screen and when exiting the game. I have even been having issues where when I exit, the client just freezes and I have to hit ctrl/alt/delete and go to task manager to stop ddo.

This would not be such a issue but one of the toons is my hagglebot/mule (1st toon turned into this) so I end up going on him alot.

So basicly I was wondering if anyone else has this issue and/or is there a way to stop it. Thanks.

I've noticed a recent change in the way logout works which might explain some of this. It appears that after you issue the logout command, DDO tries to do some internal cleanup before actually logging you out. I notice in some cases the client seems to "remove" objects from the area before logging out.

My theory (entirely guesswork on my part) is that this is an attempt to "clean up" before stopping/quitting and in some cases it takes longer than others. Perhaps the actual speed of the cleanup is related to what has to be cleaned up, the speed of memory and disk swapping on your computer (and therefore what else is using it on your computer), your connection speed, server speed, etc..etc..etc.

My further guesswork was that this was changed from an "instant logout" on command to a "logout after cleaning up when ready" which sometimes takes "awhile."

I would be curious if you could determine that either toons with a lot of gear, or those in a very busy area tend to take longer to logout than others.

For me its just a few seconds when the delay does occur. And once in awhile quitting takes a long time but I don't mind since I've already switched to my next task and let DDO do whatever it needs to do.
