Default we need an european time zone server

    why?

    1. since no any server especially dedicated to euro time zone, all europeans scattered between servers.

    2. this is an mmo you spend 1 hour in a quest and those quests has different levels, so to run say orchard quests you want 14-16 etc.

    3. this is an mmo where you can keep tring, so it's not like you will face this problem just once and when you hit 20 it will be alright like wow.

    4. and this is something that came to me after i write it all: because of voice chat europeans scared of this game. i even have a hard time understanding what people says sometimes when they speak as if whispering or when they use a very bad microphone. now, i am not saying remove voice chat or something i'm just saying, since it is possible to go ddo.com and register and play this game from european countries, since it is not uk and us dedicated game it should be possible to play this game even if you don't speak english. if there was a european time zone server where people just type what they have to say a lot more people would play this game without being called dumb idiot and whatnot... then quit, i'd presume.

and because of all those reasons above and more, there's just not enough people. waiting freaking 1 hour to fill my lfm just for one quest and even if there are 5 of us finding a healer is pain in the butt still. people would wait 10 min max then begin to leave which would start a chain reaction and no one in party again and like after waiting and wondering around and getting ship buffs 3 times i end up doing nothing in 5 hours and log off myself too.

not fun. i should say that until level 14 or 16 you don't care too much. but after 18... it is hell. i was playing this game 2 years ago, i wondered why the hell i quit this game. it must be this. i hit 20 two years ago and run every quest and did not want to tr and was just doing epics, big top and easy stuff and back those times even was better or so i feel like at the moment.

is it a lot of work to make a new server and transfer people there? i bet it is. i don't want to hear that, thanks. i know that, it is obvious, thanks.

    :::::::::::::::::::::SO I PROPOSE FOLLOWING:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

put a question on webpage which is also reachable from launcher:

would you like to be transferred to an european timezone server with all your items and packs and stuff?

and count only yes votes because trolls regenerate.

I think they made Wayfarer to help meet that need. I know it says German, but I know some people from other countries are on there. Hope this helps.

it would help if they can transfer my account and everything i bought and every item i have. but if there are a lot of german voice chat there, i wouldn't understand a word.

Don't worry. Players speaking German over voice chat on Wayfinder will be the exception. This is partly because most Germans are polite enough to address other people not in their own mother tongue, partly because there is quite a percentage of non-German players on Wayfinder, and partly because Wayfinder is the most solo-friendly server ever.

In fact, players using voice chat will be the exception, or, players, for that matter.

What you asked for was time zone. The closest that is, is Wayfinder.

Beyond that, unofficially, I believe both Thelanis and Ghallanda have a large EU population still.

Yeah Big T has an amazing group non North Americans. At different times for me you can get in with some great Brits for sure but my favorite time is after midnight (for me running Central Time).

Why ... because that is when the Aussies and Kiwi's come out to play and for a Canadian they are just a lot more fun (on average) that the Americans. Not sure why but they seem to have more of a sense of humor that this Good Old Canadian boy sure appreciates!

that all is okay but what i am saying is what about other people who play on different servers with tred characters tons of items made of endless farming? if big t has lots of europeans and if they transfer our accounts with our items and stuff there i'm okay with that too.

but just saying x server has more europeans doesnt cut it. i wont just start from beginning. i bet many people quit because of this, because of time difference. if there was a way to transfer accounts + stuff in it to x server, they might turn back to check it out.

I am European, and English is not my first language. But I have never had any problems in groups, and if you mention that you speak a different language, I find other players even more patient and explaining their words more.

If you join a new group, and don't understand their voice chat, just type that you have no sound. They will type the important information then.

and you think a new server would make this any better? all the healers would end up there?
I don't think so. A new European server would just create another even smaller fraction of a world, with fewer players in general and even less healers available.

I have played on Wayfinder, too. They are not only Germans, and will also type English in party chat, no problem at all.

i dont have a problem understanding people myself unless their microphones beyond krappy. that was about general mmo players from europe, young people from say bulgaria or poland or whatever. you just can't expect them to understand voice chat. it's not cool typing 'i dont have sound' or 'i dont speak english' or 'im just a loser' you know. it was about, making this game more attractive and playable for masses. go play any other mmo, you will find tons of people from brazil, poland and turkey and you name it. again, that's the least of 'my' problems, it is just a suggestion to attract non-english speakers from all over the world and that's all.

it doesn't work right now. if you were to gather all europeans from all servers and put them in the new server it would work way better i think. it is also no help when you tell me there's this server and there's that server with more europeans. i play on orien. some other dude with the same problems i have is from some other server. we all should quit and leave everything we made since years and move to wayfinder? no one would do that.

if they were to suggest europeans a certain server when you first download client i'd be the one to blame for not reading stuff. but they don't. so people just choose a random server and suffer.

The European Servers closed two years ago, as you should be aware by your join date.
No point in trying to get them back.

Most of the Remaining Europeans of that time ended up on Ghallanda.
Those that jumped ship early ( before we knew Europe was going to be closed ) are on Thelanis, Cannith and Orien.

This is the servers you have to look at ( along with the German Language Wayfinder ) if you want people at European time.
Also note that usually European players for DDO are older than young unless you count people well in their thirties as young people. And to be honest mixing them with young is a bad idea.
Last you're not looking hard enough, in my guild we have people from : Sweden, Denmark, Greece, South Africa, USA, France and more, and it's supposed to be an european centered guild.

It's too late to gather all the European on one server it should have been done when they dumped Keeper and Devourer on Ghallanda, now two years after it's defintely too late.
On G-Land : Flavilandile, Blacklock, Yaelle, Millishande, Larilandile, Gildalinde, Tenalafel, and many other...

    Arrow

The servers are up 24/7 and players play at all different times, so not much sense to have a dedicated European server.
Unless they actually updated and mantained this server on Euro time.

They tried it with Wayfinder.. a new server marketed as a German Server, but as a new server only represents about 1% of the DDO playerbase population.
The previous Euro server got redistributed as posters above have shown.

Argo has a Auzie late night population, see some Russian and Brazilian Guilds, etc...
I would assume all the larger servers would have a similar distribution of players playing at all time zones.

You would likely be better off going to a larger server with a large population base as more players means more opportunity for groups.

Last year Yuskuma plotted some Guild population information
    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=373797

I did a rough calculation (assuming all server guild to population distributions are similar).

    Population size would be...
    Khyber 17.5%
    Thelanis 16.6%
    Ghallanda 15.3%
    Sarlona 14.7%
    Argonnessen 13.6%
    Cannith 11.0%
    Orien 10.2%
    Wayfinder 1.1%

It would be nice to see some current Server %'s provided by DDO but I wont hold my breath.
Information on peak playtimes per server etc....

Use your Shift key (or whatever the Euro equivalent is) and stop whining. No one is going to take you seriously if you act like a child.
