Default Does Recoyle have a hidden effect?

When my artificer is using the "Recoyle" runearm, I notice that sometimes enemies aggro on me, even though I haven't hit them yet, and there was someone else in the party who started attacking first. Does Recoyle cause unwanted aggro, instead of just increasing aggro like the description states, or am I just imagining things?

I noticed that with the Anathema ring, but I wouldn't call it unwanted. Having the initial aggro go to the character that can heal itself and doesn't need to stop moving to do useful damage is usually a good idea. The melees can pick the aggro up one mob at a time

    "Kite, kite, kite all day;
while melees watch and walk away."
I though AA rangers had killed this trick,
But here you are, reviving that schtick.

"Come now, dear lads and lasses fair,
and watch this dude run, arrows painting the air!"
You might be clever or adroit, it's true,
But oft kiting is worst than finding a Grue.

"Oh look at him run straight through dancing blades.
No cleric could pewpew so, through such a sword cage!"
Whiff-whiff go the melees: sword, club and fist.
Careful now; you don't want to be on their 'list'!

    Recoyle?!

    Isn't one enough?!

just so long as it doesn't set your max HP to 5 and force you to melee everything, you should be fine

I got it from my first and only full run of the Threnal chain.

btw, the description reads: A part of his spirit lingers on, and is STILL causing you problems.

I would say based on your description and the item description, there's definitely something going on.

Did you check Effects channel to see if there is anything there when you equip?

its got a posted "anathema" ability, upping all the threat generated from your spells by 25%, and im guessing anything the runearm hits or boosts (repeater autoattacks) also goes up in threat

    No, sorry.

Still, it wouldn't surprise me if the Anathema effect caused something like what I've been seeing. It's usually not enough to cause me problems, though. Just something that happens when an enemy gets too close to me.
