Checking for players

Hi all,

Last week, for the first time in what could be 2 years, I joined a PUG LFM. That's not big news or important to anyone but me. However, it made me consider why I don't join LFM groups anymore. Long story short, I really never know when I'll end up getting in with some uptight individual who will start popping blood vessels if it takes me longer than 30 seconds to get to the quest entrance. That's not the specific reason, of course, but I think it conveys the idea.

Here's the thing, I do enjoy questing with others, particularly if these individuals are laid back and social, and they understand that my wife and I like to play this game as social entertainment...and to kill things and get nice loot. We largely play with family members and friends. However, sometimes we are on alone or don't have a full group, and we would like to have some (additional) company. It is to that end that I am writing.

Once upon a time, I used to PUG all the time and I got to know just about everyone on Thelanis. Those days are long gone, but I wonder if there is anyone around that might enjoy reconnecting with Eriik and Emmaline. I'm looking for players I used to know that are still laid back and fun. Too often I find players that I used to know have evolved into less patient/tolerant, more driven versions of what I remember. Perhaps my memory fails me, but that's the impression I get, and it's not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for those folks that could stand to play with permanently weak players, just because there is social fun to be had. I'm not saying that there are any permanently weak players in our midst, but I am looking for people who can accept that not everyone plays top shelf or aspires to.

Anyway, if you remember me or Emma (or you want to meet us), you can still laugh when things go pear-shaped, and you like to socialize while meandering (or sometimes sprinting) through quests of all difficulties, please let me know. I'd like to start a list of folks that I can throw a party invite to when we have spots open and are feeling social.

Same here. Look me up too. Like you, I rarely join PUGS because of the anti-social nature they've taken on. Currently, I'm in a guild of 3, and we regularly 3 man epics and such. Lately, we've been doing alot of TR'ing as one of our members is on his last life as a 3x completionist. One thing we all remember though is this IS a game. It's about fun and friends.

.......sometimes I stop to smell the butterflies. Other days I really just want to get down and dirty with a few zergfest hours. If I'm at the proper lvl, I'd run with you all if you needed a 6th.

actually I've been puging (or Soloing) my current new character, and i'd have to say its been awesome. I've met some really great folks, we've zerged when needed, taught new folk as I found them, smelt the flowers many times and in short really enjoyed this character's trip.

The only issue i've had is been Premium i've been setting lfm's on normal which has had a negative of not many ppl are willing to run normal 1st time. to me it just reminds me of the old days when we had no choice but to do N,H,E. I've advanced pretty fast anyway as theres so many quests out there now days.

I guess what i'm saying is puging's not as bad as we make out many times. I'll continue to set lfm's and just carry on and solo stuff if no on joins, but the lfm will still be up for those who want to come smell the flowers.

Oh and i'm unguilded as well, this new character was my first character on thelanis my main is on orien. As a melee i've found it fun doing things with just pots for resists and heals (ok i use the hire for heals when i think it'll be a help).

Time zones are always my biggest issue more than players attitudes (NZ'er here so thats real late night or you U.S folks )

You might want to look up the Storm Lords, their GL Raidon is an Aussie, and I know they typically have a decent coverage across time zones.

Hey old friend.

I played for a month earlier this year and then for a few days when the BIG release came out during the summer, but other than that I haven't played for a few reasons, one being the pugging and the new style of LFM posts (very restrictive) and the lack of laid back and easy going fun players.

My 2 times this year I teamed primarily with Spiderpig zerging TRs to 20 over a week or 2 and some fun runs with the Guardians of the Apocalypse.

I'm taking some time off in December to game a bit, but most likely it will be with the people above and maybe a few of my old friends from my Archangels days.

I will definitely look for you and your wonderful better half. Email me if you still have my email addy or pvt msg me here.

Pugging? R U NUTS??? I stopped that years ago. Just aint worth the headaches from people who "know" what they are doing.

I do understand. I'm gestating and its now exhausting to do most of the work in the house. Plus the Holidays... No work = no fun time for me.

I confess! I've been playing Lego LotR!! It's FUN!! Sean Bean dying by banana shot to the heart and the riders of Rohan Riverdancing on their mounts and the countless dwarf tossing (it's actually a mechanic in the game...) and Uruks are actually created by throwing stuff into a washing machine and the real reason the Gates of Mordor opened when Frodo and Sam saw them was because the Haradians were delivering pizza ("Meat's back on the menu, boys!")

Sigh...those were the days. I miss the Tharashk community feeling. Well, if you and others are around with any predicability, post here or drop me a line with character names (if not in signature) and play times. Emma and I are on most days - lots on the weekend usually, and maybe an hour or two on weekdays in the 6 pm - 9 pm (eastern US) time range. Additionally, I am sometimes on in the afternoon beginning about 2 pm or so, although I have been keeping to myself until now.

I come back to the game every other year or so and exclusively PUG, as I'm unguilded and no one else I know plays this game. Definitely becoming harder to PUG though. The idiots I can ignore most of the time. Just grin, bear it, grab my xp, and run.

My problem is that since coming back this year I've just been seeing fewer and fewer PUGs. The WHO tab says there's thousands of people online at peak hours, but the GROUPS tab usually looks like a ghost town. I'm never up for leading a PUG though, so that may be part of the problem. Too many followers and not enough leaders I guess.

But hit me up if you need to fill a group sometime. I'm usually on every evening and weekend. My mains are Mechanikill the rog and Felicitous the arti.

A lot of the old DWAT I do believe still play. I did something really crazy like start college full time this past fall. Couple that with working full time, being a full time mom, and trying to keep up on a relationaship with a very good, and thankfully very understanding, guy; I really don't have much time at all. I am coming up on finals week so hopefully a bit more over the holiday break.

Well it's been almost 3 years since I stopped playing ddo and mmo's in general. I recently got but by the bug to play some ddo. Loaded up and still had all 12 log my characters waiting patiently. Good to see some seasoned warriors still around. Looking at getting some playing time I and catching up on ALOT of changes. I'm currently guileless though as some of you may remember me from the past I ran with some exceptional guilds that I truly could not even say are in existence today. Some of those included rusty puppy, Occam's razor, inferus sus and DARPA (though I might be wrong about the last one as it was only briefly before my extended hiatus. Regardless looking for evening groups to run with drop me a line or catch me on. Note I'm sure I will be very rusty and outdated on build and wespon set ups but should be up to follow most intelligent and or funny conversations with little or no problem alcohol excluded lol.
