    Default Bastard Sword Questions

Hello - I guess I have some confusion on the bastard sword. I have seen several posts where I have gleened a little information here and there, but I was hoping to get some specific and concrete answers if possible.

I checked both the DDO Compendium and the DDO Wiki, but when checking the bastard sword in those places it simply states the normal stuff like base damage, critical damage, etc.

Yet in the forums I often see people referring to how the bastard sword (and for that matter the dwarven axe) act like a two handed weapon - even when used one handed with a shield - in that they have a chance for glancing blows.

I believe it, but is there any "official" game play rule where this is stated?

Is it exactly the same chance and damage percentage as regular two handed weapons?

What happens if you use a bastard sword without a shield?

How do the two handed weapon feats/enhancements affect a bastard sword?

    Thanks for any replies!

Bastard swords and Dwarven axes give glancing blows like two handed weapons when you do not have a weapon in your off hand. That means your off hand can only have runearms, shields, orbs or else you don't get any glancing blows. You could also have nothing in your off hand I suppose, but that'd be a bit wasteful.

Enhancements and feats affect these glancing blows just like they do for two handed weapons.

    Uhm... quoting from DDOWiki:

Update 5: Bastard Swords when wielded by a proficient user as a Single Weapon or Sword and Shield will now produce Glancing blows on enemies around wielder. The glancing blows are increased by Two Handed Fighting feat chain and enhancements that increase the effectiveness of them.
On Thelanis: Hallelujah (EK wraith) - Jerryrigged Juggernaut (Fiend Warlock) - Sepulchral (Druid) - Chopchopchop (Monk) - Alleyshadow (retired gimped monkcher). Formerly on Keeper : Misericordia (Thug) - Mumbo Jumbo (Battle Caster) - Infernal Can (WF Kinda Cleric) - Halleluyah (Melee Spellsinger).

A search for "bastard sword" on the wiki came up with several hundred hits. A check on the page created for bastard swords does not include that information. After seeing your post I tried searching for "bastard sword glancing" and indeed it is the first hit. So much for my search-foo skills.

EDIT - Dangit, I must be blind. I must retract my previous statement that it only shows regular weapon damage and such on the wiki bastard sword page. It's right there in black and white. Not sure how I missed it.
