Default Arty/Monk - Completionist Build - Needs Feedback

I am getting ready to start working towards completionist (yes I know TRs are not quite as important anymore, doing it for the sake of doing it) and I am not overly interested in messing with each individual class. As a result I am trying to put together a build (possibly 2) so I can just fly through them with roughly the same tactics/gear/etc...

The character I currently plan to use is my Artificer who is also my crafter. His crafting is already 104/103/103 and I intend to continue to working on it as I TR by re-using some of the easy recipes as they reset each life.

Anyways, after doing some reading I found a lot of people suggest some sort of Arti/evasion build but I did not see any specific builds floating around that fit what I was looking for.

So this build (see below) is what I have so far, and I am open to any/all feedback. I only ask that you tell me the why behind your feedback so I know where you're coming from. I am even open to suggestions for other splits that I should use, even if they're only for a specific group of lives.

As it sits I am seriously considering Rogue for the evasion splash just because of the synergy potential of mechanic if I take it far enough. Thoughts?

I have run this build for about 5 of past lives.

I prefer the monk splash over the rogue for the extra feats. You can never have too many feats. It allows me to pick up insightful reflexes which is great on a high int toon with evasion. I usually burn the a feat on dodge since the monk feats are of limited use beyond toughness. The dodge from the feat stacks with the 4% dodge you get from the 2 monk levels.

The only time I used rogue was for the barbarian and bard lives when alignment was an issue.

I would also recommend that you take Arty for the first three levels. The second level of arty will let you use runearms which add dps to your attacks. The third level should give you the elemental weapons spell which will add 1d6 dmg to your attacks also.

Evasion is nice, but you should be able to survive till level 5 without it. Damage is king at low levels if you want to level quick and easy.

I would also switch out the Evo feat with rapid reload. Most of you damage comes from your repeater. Faster firing = more damage. 1 extra DC on your rune arm shots will not help as much.

I ran this 9/2 arti/monk build for few lives also.

I always take toughness and precision for monk bonus feats.

I have a L2 Heavy Repeater at level 12 so for the most part, dps is enough to cap.

Also, since my build is 36 points, I split it this way.

    Str 8
Dex 16 (+3 dex tome for IPS)
    Con 13
    Int 18
    Wis 8
    Cha 13

I go with h-elf with pally dillie (hence the 13 cha) for +5 to all resist.
With intelligent reflex, +5 pally dillie, +1 path of monkey (I think), +2 from rogue life when u get it, your trap reflex will be very high... Mine is high 40ish at level 13 or so.

As far as healing goes, I have no problem with wands and just using heal scrolls when I can UMD it.

    Feats I take

    PBS
    Rapid Shot
    Precision
    Toughness
    Precise Shot
    Improved Precise Shot
    IC-range

everything else is optional for me and depends on what the last 9 levels are going to be.
I wouldn't bother with Spell focus or maximize (unless u go WF for repair spells) with only 9 levels of arti.

Anyways, hope that help. Just my take on it.

Thought Rapid Reload was auto-granted for artificers?

Since you both have done this build for a few lives, which gear is essential?

Obviously the L2 Repeater, but anything else? Note that I have the ability to make any House C challenge items with relative ease and obviously crafting is no issue.

Rapid Reload is. Rapid Shot is not, but it will increase your dps and you took it already.

Sorry, I was working from memory. I knew it was rapid something. Rapid reload came to mind first. Take rapid shot.

    In regards to gear:

If you have the nimble trinket from cove, use that. a 20% perm blur is always nice.
Windhowler bracers are a must from the blockade quest.
Beholder docent is good if you go warforged. You can +10 reflex saves to it which is nice when you have evasion. it also will block casting on crits, so it is great against casters.
spectral gloves are always nice to have

Just now putting all of this information together into a package and noticed the helf pally dilly suggestion, I was under the impression that this bonus capped at 2, not 5? Am I missing something?

Long overdue update.....I finally completed this project.

I got about 6 or 7 lives in the first couple of months after my last post, but then took a long 4 year break from DDO, a few months after I got back I've managed to grind through lives still pretty much using this exact build for every life with a couple of exceptions for iconic lives that I felt I had better builds for. I did a 20 pally life for Bladeforged (had an eSoS so might as well), a 18 wiz/2 rog life for deep gnome, and a 9 rog/9 fighter/2 arty for PDK.

I even wrapped up a number of epic PLs in the process, but plenty more to go for epic completionist which is my next project (and will hopefully take a lot less time).

    Anyways,

    ***Langauge Warning***:

    I AM COMPLETE!!!!
