Default You may not perform this action while in a public area...

    Erm Turbine?

Was a Druid's ability to take down the Training Dummy or attack mobs during Mabar somehow overpowered?

I ask because the Druid Wolf Form attack "Spells" now no longer work in public areas.

Jaws of Winter, Baiting Bite and Takedown now won't function.

    Why?

It was bad enough that Flame Blades couldn't be summoned and that Druids have to run into a Quest or Slayer Area in order to summon Goodberrys so that they can then run to a Tavern and use them and instead of fixing these oversights you compound the issue?

Could someone remind me why I paid for this class again?

99.9% of everything else about druid is why you paid for it. The other .01% is there to give you something to come to the forums and whine about.

It might indeed be whining, but imagine if a Ranger couldn't use Manyshot in Public Areas or a Fighter or Rogue couldn't use Haste Boost.

How about if a Cleric couldn't use Auras or Bursts?

Its the equivalent of this Druid Neutering.

Especially with Mabar returning very soon this decision makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Actually you can cast Goodberries in the pvp pit... so run to tavern, jump in pit - cast spell - run quickly out before you get killed as you likely have no hp/sp at the time

The tavern in the market is particularly handy as it is rarely used by pvp-ers

(tested post u16 so it still works in the pit) - you can even eat the berries in the pit...

That's good to know and I appreciate the information, but it doesn't really help in Eveningstar, Amarath, House Canith and so on.

There was even a Dev post ages ago when it was mentioned that they weren't working in Public Areas and the Dev response was:

It's definitely supposed to be castable anywhere, not just in a dungeon.
And rather than fixing this what do they do?

Add to the list of stuff that doesn't work in places it should.

Why did you pay for this class?

I think you need to go back to the drawing board with whatever build you are using if it's melee focused and are here complaining about the training dummy. You shouldn't need the special attacks you listed to make the dummy go down Real Fast.

I've never even used them on the dummy. A fresh one (a dummy in a new ship instance) is done in under 30 seconds. A stale (a dummy in a stale ship instance) dummy is done in 5. My pet usually has the dummy down before I'm finished buffing him to take the dummy down.

    This is your response?

Would you like to read through what I actually said?

NOWHERE did I state that I couldn't kill the dummy without these abilities.

My AA Ranger can kill the Dummy quite easilly without Many Shot, but using Many Shot makes it faster so I can get on with playing the game.

Same thing regarding these spells. Using them I could kill the Dummy much faster (due to the increased weapon damage) and then get back to actually playing the game.

I built my Druid as a caster, max WIS and all level ups in WIS and I geared it with Sneak Attack items and fight in Wolf Form. With Animal Growth she's sitting at 32 STR. It's not full ****** Barbarian levels, but it does the job.

My complaint is that there is really NO reason why these spells have been changed. What's next? Should Haste and Teleport only be usable in Quests?

What was the point in changing these spells, particuarly with Mabar about a week away?

Bumping this because the more I play my Druid the more it annoys me.

I can see no logical reason for this change.

Does it really hurt the game if Druid players can kill the dummy in a timely fashion and then get back to questing?
