Crashing after update! YAY!

This morning..pre update everything worked fine and dandy! After I downloaded the update...
I crash on the Welcome to Ebberon screen, right after char select has been done. Every time.
I figured ***, why not just do fresh install...so I removed it all, re installed and same deal....crash!
Next, I figured hey! Lets dload new/fresh dx drivers. No soup for me! Crash!

I should also state that the wife's laptop is on the same switch/router, and she has no trouble logging in whatsoever.

The only difference is im running winXP and shes running win7, not that that should make any discernible difference. But ya never know right?

SO.....any clues as to what I should be looking at now, keeping in mind I havent changed a darn thing system wise, and all was peachy right before the update this morning?

i have the same problem and i`am running win7 64bit.
and it only just started today after the patch.

Same as OP and on XP as well. turning down all graphic options didn't work either.

Oh frell... I hope DDO didn't get hit by the same crash death that LOTRO is facing. They still haven't solved it over there yet.

I guess I feel a slight bit better knowing that its not just me. Although that doesn't help my situation heh. Hopefully this is being looked at or at least noticed by someone other than players. Would hate to have to cancel already, only been playing 2 months and I am starting to get hooked!
