First of all: Cheers for bringing the servers back up on time today, that doesn't occur very often, does it

But then: When I logged on, the first thing that caught my eye was a funny little icon in the lower left of my screen... Oh hold on.. you moved the 'chetwindow-eye' to the upper right corner of the chat window? Seriously guys ***? That's just plain annoying when your window is set to transparent!

Anyway, I'll just set my window to non-transparent again.. but huh? What the heck is that hole in the lower left corner? Now that looks pretty stupid too.. Ah, I get it.. the menu button in the lower left corner of the screen fits perfectly into the new hole in the chat window. great! But there's a hotbar in the way I don't really wanna move, so now the chat window looks stupid after all.. so much for UI customization :/

PS: Print-screen seems bugged, either in DDO or in Win7, as I only get a black screen when I paste the screenie into a picture software. so unfortunately no screenies to show what I actually mean (for those who haven't noticed the interesting UI changes yet..)

I have a toolbar below my chat window so the new semi-circular 'hole' doesn't work for me either. The increased font size in the chat output box is annoying too. I suspect this may be unintentional because the same font increase shows up in ingredient bag search boxes. The box is larger to accommodate the larger font and as a result the search field overhangs the ing bag on the right side.

Personal theory here, but I reckon the larger font may be what has messed up the level range selectors on the lfm panel. Font now too large so the dropdown boxes no longer appear properly.

yup, in that case the new semi-hole is very neat if you don't have your window transparent. but I don't have that many hotbars, and I try to keep them in a row next to each other at the bottom of my screen and not one above the other (since I loose a lot of my fov when I put them over one another)

The hole, I don't mind so much, it fit's nicely in with the logo button and now I don't have over lap. That being said it would be nice for secondary windows just to be boxes though.

Has anyone else noticed there's a fixed line wrap limit now? I usually have wide chat bars and now I notice that the text is wrapping much sooner so I have a lot of blank space there.

It'd have been perfect if we could just toggle it.

Can't see areason we shouldn't be able to toggle it, can rotate views with the eye in the same way the quest box does.

yeah it's kinda cool. but it's not the hole that I care about, cause i usually have the background hidden, to keep my surroundings more visible. it's the fact that the button to hide it is now in upper right hand corner. this makes no sense. if you have the box in the lower left part of the screen to fit over the menu button, then the 'eye' button is out in the middle of nowhere. why can't it just be in the upper left? though the ultimate solution would be to just give us the ability to use custom skins again.

too bad they didn't bother to split the combat log into different channels while they were ugly-ing up the chat boxes. Waste of time changing the chat boxes unless the change has some practical component. And don't tell me making it fit of the ampersand is a practical component. I don't keep my chat boxes anywhere near that ampersand. Wonder what broke the grouping interface. Oh well, at least the grouping interface can still be resized. Too bad they didn't fix that "no custom level range" bug. I was so excited when I saw the download as I logged on. Maybe someone will learn from this that its better to fix existing problems than to create new ones by messing with stuff for no reason.

Agree completely.
I could do without the half-moon hole in the lower left, but that's not a big deal.
The toggle "eye" going to the upper-right, however, is very annoying and hard to conceive a reason for, based on the impression that the window was deliberately being designed to fit directly into the lower-left of the gaming screen.

As I have been playing Skyrim recently to keep me busy when absolutely no good LFM is up, thanks to Mabar event, I logged in 2 days ago in DDO to check for updates. And found the new U16 graphic changes just.... just... I won't say, or someone may remove my post here.

I just want to say that the Eye icon for the chat display is simply horrible. I keep my chat window quite large and tall, and in transparent mode. In a way that, that little icon hovers right next to my toons head when I'm playing. This is very, very annoying.

While this little graphical non-bug-but-annoying-thing is not solved, I don't plan on spend money in the store now. I was planning on buying Gianthold, shared bank, and a few other goodies. Like things are, I'll just keep playing Skyrim.

The UI change is great, with one major exception...it is horrible for people who have low res monitors, IE (1366 x 780).

My spellcasters require 6 bars on the bottom of the screen (three on the left and 3 on the right, with my pet bar in the middle) and I typically have my chat window on the left side over the three action bars...the problem with it now though, is I have two options...one is move the chat window to its location, under my bars and "docked." or keep it above my action bars and "transparent." Well I prefer having it transparent, but that god-awful eyeball icon is now in the middle of my window...

The docking thing is great for those who like it, but can we please move the eyeball icon to the left side. (or make it a button toggle so you can get rid of the icon altogether)

I'm a subber - but since logging in and seeing that eyeball in the middle of my screen, I have kind of lost my incentive to stay in the game...

The other options in Groups panel are still bugged.

I ended up buying GH, shared bank and monk and arti classes. Plus, I even got a name change for my sorc. And this is how a guy is rewarded... With an everytime less usefull and dumb interface.

I'm also still hating the notch in my chat windows. I'm really starting to dread the phrase "new and improved" when it concerns anything related to DDO or Turbine in general.

New and improved AC pass - designed to make AC useful in all content, not just pre epics. After the AC pass, it's useful in all content, except epic elite. So, basically a convoluted system for no functional change at all.

New forums - broken, but being fixed eventually

New enhancement pass - breaks a ton of builds. we wanted all the PRE's, we get an entirely new system... and still don't have the PRE's which are the thing we really wanted

New UI - very pretty... if you put your one and only chat window in the bottom right corner. Also can't be reskinned anymore.
