I've been looking for something that breaks away slightly from the typical self-involved melee types that I tend to play, wanted to try something that could actually benefit ppl around me without turning me into heal-bot and hating life (i tried it once, and I'm bloody terrible at it). Rolled a Bard for lack of anything to do the other day, and lo-and-behold I liked it! Buffing the party before charging into battle and doing pretty ok job at leading the kill count is kind of cool.
Still, couldn't help but notice that the Prestige lines all drop off around 12th, which just says to me, "hey me, try a terrible multiclass, you might dig it." I already took the liberty of grabbing a level of Fighter, because feats. Was trying to think of something that would play nice with the high-ish Charisma this duder has, and thought of Paladin. I already have a Paladin, but this seems like a horse of a different color altogether; 6 levels of Pally gives me one level of Prestige and some neat things like LoH and a bonus to saving throws.
I don't have a giant master plan at this point so I won't be posting a character sheet or anything, but is this just the worst idea in the world, or could it actually work out well? I was thinking of taking 2 Fighter levels, because THF feats. 12 Bard levels for Warchanter and that neat disco ball spell. 6 Pally for LoH, CHA saves, and maybe DoS or HotD, haven't decided. I know this is really loosey-goosey and not very plannish at all - I'm spit ballin' here! What do you think, will this work out all right?
I'm totally open to reconsidering the number of Pally levels if breaking away from Bard too soon leaves me without some major buff that I'd be stupid not to take. Just seems like that 14 in CHA is sadly going to waste heh
