    Favourite or most ridiculous ?

Because in the second case I can't decide between paetus ("hurry the gateway is down") in Ritual and the soft feminine voice

Inquisitor Gnomon when at the end of the quest he reveals himself to be a Rakshasa. The disdain in his voice, the way he sneers every word is just great.

It's much better when the DM acts out the character script vs. disguising his/her voice to make it sound like something else.

Worst DM voice, in my opinion, is a toss up between: "Please, help me!" and ::whisper:: "A guardian scorpion has noticed you" Bleh, that drives me crazy.

    Default Shadow Crypt

By far my most favorite is the Shadow Crypt.

    "Two down; many to go!"
Farm astral diamonds in game. I've been playing for only a year + a bit but I already have 2 astral diamonds. 3 more and I'll be able to do something with them.

"PLEASE HELP ME" in that horrible excuse for a female voice in "A cry for help" I am sorry the first time I ran that quest was learning the ropes with my guild so of course drinking game rules. I had the DM text up and heard that and laughed for 20 minutes straight. IN fact my buddy Lowell to get me really laughing hard will copy that whenever im getting all grumbly just to make me laugh again.

1st and foremost the Gygax narration in Delera's.

I've done delera's so many times (many multi TR characters) that you think i'd be over it, but no, still the best of them all (Delera has been released!).

Then comes the cool clinical female narration to the necro 4 set.

And a very close tie to that, the early quests, lvl 1-10, that bloke does fantastic narration, i much prefer it to the more recent ones, which all seem a bit over the top, or too 'cinematic' in feel for me.

I like Sorrowdusk and Secrets of the Artificers.

Sorrowdusk is the perfect mid-level d&d experience, I wish I had a DM who could narrate like that.

Secrets of the Artificers sells the storyline very well. You can hear the hubris and the scars of opression on those voices. Best pack in the game, in gameplay, story and narration

    Thats a tough one!

I am going to go with Yaulthoon in In The Flesh.

This is why we can't have nice things.
The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

I've gone deeper into the DM voice-overs I like most, but the short version is that I enjoy the original DM and the DM who voiced Updates 5, 6, 9 and 10.

Regardless, even with the DM voice-overs I don't like as much, I prefer having the DM voices playing at all times.

    Hi,

My two favourites are the ones in Cry for Help and Irestone Inlet.

When I finally made it through Cry for the first time, I laughed and laughed. It was absolutely hilarious once it had all sunk in. It is still one of my favourite quests too.

Irestone doesn't have that much commentary, but some of ones for the rare encounters are amusingly callous. Hearing Hobble the hobgoblin's death described so dryly, usually within seconds of his appearance, never fails to crack me up.

(Dungeon Master): Hobble the hobgoblin stands with weapons drawn and a foul expression on his face.
(Dungeon Master): Hobble the hobgoblin has been hacked apart!

    Thanks.

Best one for me is from Catacombs - Pt 3 I believe - The Old Archives:

"The Dead shall be as the Living and the Living shall weep for Death!"

The worst is Madstone Crater - The Giant Shamen - Why can't they heal themselves without whining about it constantly!?!

My favorite is all of Yaulthoon...

The one that drives me up the wall is the end of "Information is Key": "Quickly bring the artifact to the FAIRLANE representative." Phiarlan? Fairlane? Fee are len!

Speaking personally, the best DM narration is "DM Voice Off".

    /shrug

I'll turn it on for my first run through of new content, then turn it back off again. I used to kick it on for Gary's voice over, but haven't even done that in years. Kinda throws me off when I hear the narration over somebody else's mic, too.
