Paladin / Dwarve advice?

So i just started to play DDO. (i've had many years experience before this in FPS, like BF2, COD, MOHAA, etc) So this is something completely new for me. But i've had it with FPS, so i was looking for something new. Enter this game.

I'm lvl 4 now, going on 5, but i need some advice on where to go now. Why, you might ask? My answer would be this: i don't know enough (yet) about my race, class.
So any advice on what skills, feats, etc a paladin / dwarve must have to be succesfull, would be greatly appreciated.

First i would really look at the DDO wiki or the Compendium here on this site. then find people in game that run at your lvl and the times u play at. Always good to find a few people that are new or fairly new u might be able to start your DDO adventure with. This will help in many different ways. Team building, faster quest compleitons since ur not gonna be soloing and general advice u can get from other people at your lvl.
There are also many threads here on the forums about dwarves and paladins that can be a great tool for your character building. If after that u still are not getting the info u need refer to the above post^^^

Read up on the wiki and compendium, talk to people ingame, and if all else fails, talk to Heffty Smurf.

The strength of the paladin is self-healing as a melee. Unfortunately, dwarf does not offer anything in this department.

DPS-wise, the dwarf offers strength with the dwarven axe and the greataxe. Unfortunately, both of these weapons have small critical ranges and good (but not great) critical profiles, which are antithetical to Divine Sacrifice and good (but not great) synergy with Smite Evil, the paladins' best DPS abilities.

So the combination doesn't have a lot going for it. However, you could do something like...

16/15/14/8/10/10 stats on a 28 pointer

TWF
Maximize
ITWF
IC: Slash
GTWF
Open slot, could go a lot of ways: Toughness, Cleave (on the way to Overwhelming Critical), by the time you get here you'll have a better bead.

Enhancements
Extra Turning 3, Improved Turning 3, and Sovereign Host enhancements to get Hunter of the Dead PrE.
Extra Smite Evil 2 for Divine Sacrifice 1 and Exalted Smite 1.
Extra Lay on Hands 3 and Devotion 2 to get Redemption.
Dwarven Spell Defense 3.
Capstone.
