    Default Final Super-Storm Preparations

Let me start off by saying: hope everyone on the east coast and eastern US is going to tough this one out ok.

@Turbine (devs, management, Q&A, basically anyone who might still be around the office and be able to respond) a small request: Would it be possible to turn off or slow down guild renown decay for the next few days? I know that many of our guildies, for example, may not be able to play for the next week or so (or at least preparing for that eventuality), and I am sure that a large number of the player base is will be affected.

For anyone hanging out in the office to watch the kobolds and keep the hamster fed and dry, kudos! Our thoughts are with you. For those in the path of Sandy, keep safe and see you back online soon.

I have been watching this storm a bit. Unless the internet is not up-to-date, 65+ people have been killed by this storm so far.

Call me crazy, but if I was in this storms path, I wouldn't care about my Guild decay.....too many other things to worry about.

I would +1 you if I could because I think your hearts in the right place but Turbine should not do what you are requesting. If they did it for one thing, they would have to do it for every little thing that happens in RL.....so just no.

Guild Renown Decay should be the LAST thing people are concerned with if they are in this storms path.

Thanks, but not my intention. However, I think you miss my point. Obviously the effects (and affects) of the storm will be felt long after it has passed. Just thinking of a way to get "back to normal" feeling, well, like normal. I work for an NGO doing emergency relief work (I am not based in the US, but my organization is US based and ramping up to assist, just in case you were wondering), and I know the impact that this is going to have will be long lasting. With the shut down of many services, not to mention Wall Street, and potential losses looming, I agree with you on this:

But getting back to "normal" life" is just as important. Even if that means a "silly online virtual world where you can hang out with your friends" (<- possibly the opinion held by most who don't actually play online MMOs).

Again, my thoughts and heart goes out to everyone on the east coast.
