    Default move mabar location

while i like delara's tombs area, i feel that it's somewhat restricted

in the twelve, we get 3 options 1 of which is for amrath,
the other 2 is for realm of undead and outer planar planes

why not open the undead planes for mabar

have a small town area for resting trading and such,
have this area abit fun like fred and joe lantern as well as other minor npcs around
wont this clear up some of the lag in house j

later when the time is right, the team can even expand the world and make content
while i wont request epic necro, i do see quite abit of potential for the undead

as a side note, keep in mind that not all undead are evil

That's a good idea, and an even greater idea for Risia.
The first time was good as "special event", repeats could be at the plane, on the storyline of preventing the rifts.

It need not be a newly made area, just a copy same area but separate with its own set of instances.
That'd be the border of the plane that is conterminous, the overlapping zone where reality gets thin and you can literally walk across.

    Interesting idea.
The area you mention would be excellent if it were placed in a graveyard, with open bar closeby for ease of regenerating SP/HP/clickies as well.
Regarding lag, we can only hope that it would decrease, should it be placed within an area of its own, but with DDO, you never know.

I think the overall idea of having a completely separate area for the events is a very good one, one of which I hope the devs seriously take into account, as not only will it be much more convenient, it will also give the right atmosphere to each event and thus become, dare I say, "special".

Hey Citizens of Stormreach, let's have a festival in the plane of the Dead. Just make your way to the Twelve. Tickets can be purchased at the Tavern inside the Tower.

Oh no need to place the entrance in the tower, that's just one planescaller, those in the ships should work as well.
There would be an entrance right in deleras (or the harbor for risia).
Be it a portal, a bordering zone, a NPC, or even a sudden mist...

yes i'm talking about the planescaller in the tower of the 12, not the area of the 12 itself.

we need not have a fancy new area once we get to the planes of the undead,
just take lower necropolis as a template, it has everything we need

    a tavern
    bank
    auction house
    mailbox

just have joe lantern there for trading, crafting and such
we can even have some of the other house npcs' visit to "assist" as the undead are restless
npcs can be swapped for more flavorful lore of the area/event. and even old friends like delara can make a cameo

let's not forget there's a wide area of 3 tombs coverage for undead to rise from the ground

No, no. You cant tell us your reason for moving Mabar, then not explain what "restricted" means. And I notice no one called you on it.
Tell us, how is Delera's Graveyard MORE restricted than running all the way to the Twelve, then running all the way to the planescaller? Sorry, but as soon as I read those words I thought that was totally ridiculous, and makes me think that was not really your reason for making this suggestion.
Delera's Graveyard is next to a guild ship port. It is right outside one of the teleportation points. It is not very far from a transporter. Which of those in not convenient?

ah, you should have just asked. when i say restricted, i merely mean the area in delara's tomb for farming,
if you time it right, you can get in between a group of spwans and they have no space to attack you
ofcourse i'm talking bout the recent hoard of giant skelies

    my logic is:
1-if a new area is to be made for the event, they get to make the area more fitting for events; and they can add room for possible future additions.

2-there's quite abit of end points available in ddo for possible future content, if nothing at least i can remind the dev of the possibility

3-by moving the area of interest, you reduce lag in that area, and taking the CC event as preference, the harbor didn't add as much lag/delay time to the town area as house j did during past mabar
granted the lag is variable base on your connection, and such. but reducing overall is my main point

    hope that answers your question

No, it really would not reduce the lag for the area because you would still have hundreds of people there. The entire server becomes slow during Mabar and Crystal Cove, the latter having its own designated area.
Also, I think the reason they are using Delera's Graveyard is because of the sentimental value. It was one of the packs personally designed by Gary Gygax, and his memorial is there.

Yeah there's going to be some lag overall, that's an issue on its own.

It is fairly more pressing to get Risia out of the Harbor than Mabar out of Delera.

(altough it'd help unclutter the gates of the graveyard :P)
