    Default Bravery Bonus

    Was thinking about a chunk of threads lately and I was just curious what others thought. Before you flame, this is just an idea, and one that may be considered an easy button to most.

    What if Turbine made Bravery bonus work on normal? The first time you run a quest on normal (or first time ran period), you would get BB.

    The reason I am thinking this is that there are many complaints that people are not grouping or able to find groups. People will not join a normal LFM if it will break their streak, but this could get rid of this problem.

    This may also make those that don’t like to be a party leader in elite content more prone to start groups. One other advantage I thought of was for the new people that start tomorrow. They will not intimidated by the "elite only" questing that others force upon them. This could be a good way to get people to see the game without be forced into elite quest that are not as forgiving.

    I know this idea may not be popular with a lot (AND I AM NOT CALLING FOR EASY BUTTONS). This game is easy enough for most of on the forums to solo everything elite, but I started thinking about the "new blood" or ways to encourage others to group.

    For those that want a challenge, elite would still be a BB as well. Whatever setting you feel comfortable handling will get you BB.

    I am not calling on this because I think the game is too hard, but I think it might be nice for newer people. If you find holes or think this is just stupid, plz flame on.

    EDIT: If this has been brought up before I apologize. I had not seen it before.

    The bravery bonus was designed for TR's so they wouldn't just mindlessly run normal all the time to level up. So the only hole I can see would be that we would be going backwards and all you would see is normal run farming ala Nx10, H, E kinda runs from the past.

    Seeing as how normal diff is super easy, I would imagine there would end up being even less groups up...

    I commend you for trying to think up better ways to encourage grouping though.

    What if the hard and elite bravery bonus counters didn't reset if, the first time you ran a quest, you ran it on normal? You wouldn't be eligible for the bravery bonus for that quest, but you wouldn't necessarily be penalized either. Under the current system, this is effectively accomplished now by having a character in the party that is one level higher that the quest on elite.

    That is a good idea. What happens if you log on and the only LFM up in your level range is Madstone normal xp farming runs? If you have not ran it elite yet, you may just sit it out.

    This results in you logging off with nothing to do, and a party that does not completely fill because of this mechanic.

    May I suggest opening your own group on elite?
    Im sure there are others in the game sitting and waiting just like you...

    IMHO Breavery Streak could be gone, and it would be better for the game, so far the only thing it does is making PUGing harder - not good considering drop in playerbase.

    There is several much better ideas how to pump XP into TR:
    I. Give quests fair base XP considering it lenght/difficulty/level. So running Shavarath or House C quest will be a good way to earn xp.

    II. Introduce some "party bonus", if you team up with either friends or pugs you have small (like +15%) xp boni.

    III. Increase the 1st time on difficulty bonus to more like 10/25/50/100% No matter if its your 1st time or you run it before on casual.

    IV. Introduce "Explorer" bonus, for 1st 3 runs on any quest (as addition to 1st time on difficulty), something oposite to repeticion penalty. LIke +50%/+40/+30 for 1st/2nd/3rd runs on any difficulty. Basicly give a reason to run several quests 3 times, rather than all once, and choosen 10 times.

    V. Reintroduce underlevel bonus, for each level you are below +5%, for each level max party member is +10% (sums up to 25%+50%) so challenge hungry folks have something more challenging than running feast and famine at lv 15.

    VI. Add some difficulty bonus. like -/-/+10/+20%. So if someone need to farm, let him at least farm elite.

    i understand the concept behind the op, but why change it? People just have to get over the idea that breaking the streak is a bad thing. My streak of 10 elite is just as effective as someone elses at 110.

    If you do break it, its only five runs to get it back to maximum capacity.

    At this point I would really not want to see the dev team touch the bb bonus. Given the run of luck that they have had with crashing the xp in the challenges, the bugs in the motu, crystal cove, mabar, etc ad nauseum, can you really blame me for not wanting them to touch the bravery bonus?
