maybe in that weak you were not wearing any items that required you to have UMD skill check.

I find out that as long as you equip only the items that you'd be able to wear with 0 UMD you will not get affected by said lag, but if you put on an item that needs UMD (even a the smallest check possible) - then changing item with charisma, umd bonus, cha skill bonus (GS, dragontouched, persuasion/command suffix), or casting any spell that increase your skills (GH, heroism, focusing chant and so forth) would trigger spawning the LAG MONSTER on you

I was noticing a reduction in umd lag recently too. Equipping and unequipping the same item that was causing the lag before. Shame if it is back.

It's Turbine's way of punishing us for using UMD...

We should be able to use it because its a D&D themed skill...

But they DEFINITELY don't want us to actually enjoy using it...

That would defeat their "Mission Statement"

There was an exploit years ago that supposedly allowed players to use UMD required items/scrolls/wands or w/e without making a UMD check or even having a UMD of 0 (if I understand it correctly)

The fix? ADD LAG (that'll show em)

i dont even use the umd. just happens to be what causes it.

Changes to UMD calculation weren't supposed to hit till U16 at the earliest as I recall.

Certainly hasn't gone anywhere for me. Bad when I log in, and horrible after a few hours or a character swap.
