    Default raging monk question

    Hello,

I am planning to TR my barbarian into a monk. I have a spare feat slot in my build, and I was considering taking past life: barbarian. The +20 HP is nice, but the ability to rage is intriguing.

I am concerned that raging will mess with ki generation or centeredness though. Can anyone confirm or deny and unsavoury side-effects from mixing these abilities in one character?

I would test this myself but of course you can't make a monk/barb to try this out with.

    This information is purely speculation:

I don't see how it would effect weither or not you are considered centered, as it doesn't break any of the requirments(unencumbered, cloth robes/outfits, and using monk weapons).

I also fail to see how the mechanic would break ki generation as its hit=ki.

The only real conflict I can see is that you may not be bale to use some other monk abilities(much similar to how you can't use some of the ED moves while madstoned) but thats really all I can see going.

Even if it is broken a bit, you can just swap the feat at a later time to something else.

Raging is kind of counter productive to keeping centered/concentrating...too bad you can't just make a vet toon or quickly lvl to lvl 2 to make a Monk1/Barb1...alignment restrictions never made sense IMO. My reccomendation unless it somehow changes your build entirely just try it, if it doesn't work use your free feat swap to remove it.
