This year's geeky cake.

Some of you might remember the beholder cake I made last year for my friend's birthday.

This year, I decided to make him a gelatinous cube. I had BIG plans for this, that didn't quite turn out. (Turns out cupcakes float in jello. I didn't have time to pour it slowly layer by layer to suspend them right. I'll give it another try when I have more time.) I am happy with how it came out, though. And it tasted GREAT. It is a lime cake with lime custard filling, cream cheese frosting, and a lime gel over the top.

And that is a party hat on the skeleton, not a wizard hat. Birthday boy chose blue, and so wizard hat seems to come to mind first for everyone. heh.

Hehe. Funny you should mention Ghostbusters. We were joking that Slimer had slimed our whole kitchen. Seriously, I am a messy baker and there was slime EVERYWHERE!
