    Default Vorpal Strikes

How this works is confusing to me.

"Your unarmed strikes are now considered vorpal and slashing."

Does this mean that weapon focus and IC slashing work on it whiloe it is active? If so, does the IC bludgeoning requred to take it become worthless?

If this doesen't happen, what does the slashing do? just pass DR?

Yes, as does IC and Focus:bludgeon...

Slashing ADDS to the existing bludgeoning, it does not REPLACE it.

no- your attacks become of type slash AND bludgeon.

If you read those feats, those answers would be pretty clear.

Weapon focus: bludgeoning, does not actually give you +1 to attack with all bludgeoning weapons, it gives you +1 to attack with any weapon that falls under the following categories: Club, Greatclub, Heavy mace, Light hammer, Light mace, Maul, Morningstar, Quarterstaff, Unarmed, or Warhammer. For 'normal' play, this works perfectly fine, as those are all bludgeoning weapons, but for some special and named weapons, like Sireth and feats like vorpal strikes, this can either be an advantage, or a disadvantage, depending on your personal set up. (sireth, even though dealing both slash and pierce damage, but no bludgeoning damage, still gains the increased threat range when you have improved crit: bludgeoning, but gains no benefit at all from improved crit: pierce, or Improved crit: slash)

The same things go for all other weapon focus and improved critical feats(slash gives Bastard sword, Battleaxe, Dwarven axe, Falchion, Greataxe, Greatsword, Handaxe, Kama, Khopesh, Kukri, Longsword, Scimitar, and Sickle)

Long story short: even with Vorpal strikes, your unarmed attacks will require weapon focus: bludgeoning, and improved critical: bludgeoning to receive the +1 attack and doubled critrange. All the feat does is the vorpal effect to unarmed, and bypassing damage reductions.
