Default So I am might TR my WF FvS into an offensive casting FvS, and would like some advice

So, I do have an offensive casting cleric, but I don't really feel like that is applicable to this, especially since I am sort of doing random stuff with that character, so here are my questions: (NOTE: I have decided on Human as my race, and I am definately going pure FvS)

    1) Which feats should I take?

Of all the feats the ones I want are: toughness, spell pen, grtr spell pen, SF: evo or necro, GSF: evo or necro, empower healing, empower, maxmize, heighten, quicken.

So I realize I can't take all of these, at the most I could get 8 if I went human....so which two would you recommend I drop? or are there better feats?

    2) Is it better to focus on necro DCs or evo DCs?

    3) How good are light spells?

    4) any tips for leveling? (playstyle wise)

    5) What is some good gear to get before TRing? ( obviously I know about concordant opposition items, but I would need to know about more stuff)

    6) Should I build in a bit of meleeing?

    thanks in advance

    EDIT:

    7) any advice on spell selection?

    8) any advice on enhancement selection?

A lot of this information is already out there, just kind of scattered about.

Impaqt's old Evoker Build. It's still very much relevant for general build advice:
    Evoker Favored Soul

Gear has been discussed here and there in bits and pieces:
    Gear and tactics questions
    FvS LF Gear Advice

I posted a quick build in a thread a while ago, it's pretty much Impaqt's but with epic feats.

    Feats (order is pretty flexible)
    1 Toughness
    1 Maximize
3 Extend (swap for Spell Pen later)
    6 Empower
    9 Spell Focus: Evocation
    12 Heighten
    15 Quicken
    18 Greater Spell Focus: Evocation
    21 Greater Spell Pen
    24 Epic Spell Pen
That should answer some of your questions.

    2) Is it better to focus on necro DCs or evo DCs?
People will argue to the ends of the earth on this. It is generally agreed that Evocation is better. This is because of Blade Barrier and Implosion, versus Slay Living and Destruction for Necromancy.

    3) How good are light spells?
They're alright. They tend to be low damage but good for spamming. The Divine Wrath and Avenging Light abilities from Exalted Angel are amazing, but the rest tend to get worse as you level away from them (Searing Light, Holy Smite, Nimbus of Light). Divine Punishment is the exception, and is your go-to spell for boss nuking.

I don't remember where it is, but someone did a whole build around light spells. It's rather pointless to build that way, though, because you can use light spells just as easily as an Evoker.

    4) any tips for leveling? (playstyle wise)
Most people melee up to level 8 or so, when Favored Souls get Holy Smite. Evokers don't really come into their own as killing machines till 12 though, when Blade Barrier becomes an option. Some people will tell you to take Heal first; that's just nonsensical. Carry scrolls of Heal/Raise Dead as soon as you can though.

    5) What is some good gear to get before TRing? ( obviously I know about concordant opposition items, but I would need to know about more stuff)
I don't have much info on this, but raid gear from Demon Queen in particular is good TR gear, as is most raid gear.

    6) Should I build in a bit of meleeing?
Opinions vary on this, and it depends on what you want to do at cap. I prefer to have enough strength to melee till the good spells kick in, and then I abandon melee entirely. Some people prefer to have melee all the way up to cap, but you end up sacrificing to get more DPS that way.

Just one more question: without empower heal won't my heal spell suffer? or is empower heal not that much of a boost?

    NP

Empower Healing is nice, but a luxury evokers really can't afford. Especially since it's easier to slot higher Devotion for Evokers over melee souls, the difference becomes negligible anyway. Even on my Cleric, I typically don't run with Empower on anything but SLAs anyway, as Heals will overheal and the Cures heal better unmeta'd now.
