Default AA monk - combat archery ?

Question for AA monk experts ... combat archery or +3 wis ?

    I plan to get the 21 base dex as follow: 16 + 2lvl +3tome
But it will cost me 2 levels up that I wanted on wisdom, and I could take great ability wisdom instead of.

I tried to calculate the benefit of combat archery with pinion [2d6] 17-20 x3 (with IC):

    average typical shot bonus dmg = 2*3.5 = 7
    crit bonus dmg = 3*7 = 21
    average bonus dmg = (15*7 + 4*21) = 9.45 dmg

so that's +9.45 dmg avg (which is amazing for a feat) vs +3 wisdom ... So what do you guys think is better (assuming I already have 40ish wisdom) ?

    Thank you

The +1[W] portion of Combat Archery is currently broken.

All you get for now is the 2% dodge when a bow is equipped.

I am facing this exact same situation, and my Monkcher was originally planning to use his level 16/20 level ups into dex to get 21 base dex for combat archery.

Unfortunately, as Glenalth pointed out, Combat Archery isn't currently functioning correctly (Nor is improved martial arts, which would otherwise act as a mini-combat archery for us monkchers). Since my plan is only to stay capped for somewhere in the vicinity of a month (Play around with the new epic content a bit, try out some destinies... yay shiradi! And then right back on the TR treadmill ), I have decided to abandon the combat archery plan altogether, and instead put level-ups into wisdom, and adjust my epic feats to be either mobility/spring attack (Mostly for the 4% dodge, but no penalty to hit while moving is nice too, i guess... if +4 even matters anymore...) or a pair of Great Wisdom feats.

If you are planning on keeping your monkcher epic level for a while without TRing, you can either take what works right now (mobility/spring attack,, or two great wisdom, or whatever you like) and then later LR in combat archery when it works (And when LRs work >_>), or just build for combat archery right now, enjoy the 2% dodge, and hope it gets fixed sooner or later.

It will eventually be bettter so I would put up the 2 points into dexterity now because hearts of wood are hard to get and I would rather not spend points into a lesser reincarnate when they fully fix the feat. I predict this feat will be fixed by update 16.
