Default Best Outfit for a Dex Based Rogue

    Hi!

The breakdown for my future 2nd life Dex Based Rogue will be:

    DEX 20 +5 lvl up, +3 Tome, +2 Halfling Enh, +3 Rogue Enh, +8 Item, +3 Insight Item, +6 Shadowdancer +2 Ship Buff + 2 Pot = 54 -> dex bonus = 22

Since i´ve never done a Dex based toon, I am kind of lost with the gear... The only outfit that comes in my mind is a ML 14 White Dragonscales Robe (+5 protection +4 shield + heavy fort).

    Any other?

    Thanks in advance! =)

Frozen Tunic is pretty hot, as is the Black Dragonscale. Both work well into epics.
Ghallanda - now with fewer alts and more ghostbane

Most people I see around in Epic stuff are wearing the Parasitic Breastplate. http://ddowiki.com/page/Parasitic_Breastplate

Good AC, classified as Light Armor instead of Medium, and you can add a Displacement Guard.

I already have a pair of Envenomed Blades, that comes with the 10% armor piercing. That´s the why I did not put the Black Dragonscale in trial. =)

I will check the Frozen out. Ty!

It is a great armor, indeed.

But the max Maximum Dexterity Bonus for this armor is 9! Even if I spend 2 feats (dodge and mobility), it stills caping my DX bonus a lot!

Going to limit his DEX I think; I may swap it in when the Displacement is more useful - maybe when soloing. When in a group I'd be diplo-dumping aggro anyway.

DT works as well - Earthen Guard, etc.

Epic Duelist Leathers from Crystal Cove are awesome for a Dex-based evasion character as well. Probably won't see Crystal Cove come back until 2013 though

It would, but Dex Bonus of 9 is pretty good. Plus he would get the stacking +3 Primal bonus to AC and the benefit of breastplate level AC. Its a little early for me to do the math (coffee is still brewing) but my rough math says it comes out pretty close between this and the Frozen Tunic.

If you have a female toon, I have to go with the Druid's leather armor from the new content.

The appearance on a female toon makes it very viable in all content Arrrr. My female, elf rogue appears to be wearing a full body stocking.

Red Dragon leather. With lilthe and a mobility item the MDB is 23.

Cormyrian red dragon for me. I'm planning that for my Dex rogue as well.

Epic Duelist Leathers is base MDB 22 (Mobility is on the leathers themselves). With Lithe it goes to MDB 28.

Or you could skip Lithe and a mobility item and still have a 22 MDB. Plus the duelist leather's themselves give you 4% dodge. With the red dragon armor, you'll need to wear a 4% dodge item somewhere else.

All this is assuming that an evasion light-armor character is trying to get his or her Dodge up pretty high.

If that's not a goal, then yes, red dragonhide armor is probably the best light armor.

And here I thought the answer as "a straitjacket" until they recovered and accepted that Str or Int based is the way to go :P

Anyway, its really not about Dex. Any armor is going to cover your Dex if you twist in Lithe. Even parasitic will cover a 40 Dex with Lithe and Mobility.

The real question is how much Dodge % you expect to have.

I know your example has a 50ish Dex, but some of that stuff is questionable. Where are you getting a +8 Dex item and +3 insight dex that isn't armor? The trinket? And why would you spend half your destiny points on +6 Dex? Surely you can get more from other things?

I am coming from a Barbarian and noticed that "Damage is the King". Tied STR to character.

Using a pair of weapons that uses DEX instead STR for damage calculation, I can´t see why invest in STR or INT.

Isn´t there itens (belts, bracers, trinkets) with those stats in the MoTU? Miscalculated here... mine fault. =(

More DEX, more damage output in the end.

If you want +8 norm and +3 insight dex, you may want Hide of the Gorstro and a planar conflux at lev 24 plus. It's not bad gear and pretty easy for rogues to farm.

Well, if you want to be limited to the two or three weapons that allow dex for damage, sure. There's Midnight Greetings, a couple quarterstaves, and maybe one other named weapon? Could be forgetting something.

Anyway, that's too restrictive for me.

Yes, +8 Dex and +3 Insightful Dex items exist. But they mainly take the armor slot, so if you are assuming one, you don't have a lot of choice about your armor.

Epic Rakshasa Hide have a MDB of 18 (up to 24 with lithe), is reasonably easy to acquire (compared to the cormyrian red armor), and good AC.

Duelist is better. Cormyrian red is better. But Rakshasa is easier to get. Maybe as a placeholder.

I want DDO to be a better game. Those are my personal suggestions on: Ammunition, Archmage, Combat Stances, Deities, Dispel Magic, Epic Destiny Map, Fast Healing, Favor, Favored Enemy, Half-elf Enhancements, Monk Kensai, Monk Stances, Past Life, Potency, Potions, Ranger Spells, Summons, Tiered Loot.
