My English is way better than my Chinese (and don't even get me started on written Chinese!), but I have a hard time processing spoken language under load, so I mostly just don't hear things people are saying if I'm in combat. I type a lot.

Yes, that seebs.
Not having fun anymore? Learn to play, noob!
Why is this aimed at the Chinese only? Or did I read that wrong?
I don't think segregation would be the answer. Learn enough Chinese that would make communication within the DDO setting successful.
Most people in the server (including most chinese) know enough English to make communication easy and efficient if you're typing stuff out. Those few that don't should restrict themselves to *insert language here* groups. If I am not joining Guoren LFMs because I can't communicate effectively in the language, I'd expect other people to do the same.

If we had a good tool for aliases we could have a collab list with the common stuff like Trap! and all that.
We could import the right aliases list as needed and people could add to them in the forum.
Aliases are already used for these purposes of speeding the communications.
Most of Chinese players you have GROUPED with know basic English, but there are a lot more who know nothing except the 26 alphabets, they never join any English lfms cuz they worry about lacking of communication. Learning some easy Mandarin such as nihao, xiexie, 88(greetings), or jiasu, qigai, tiaoyue(buffs) is very helpful under many circumstances. Additionally, you will find more fun from their in-game names, quite a few would definitely got banned if GMs can read them, for example, a friend of mine gave his brd and bbn the most brilliant names that i have ever seen: 'santian yiri' and 'yiri santian', i just can't help laughing every time i see or even type them, lol
