I have duoed it in elite at level with hires, and faced no problem. Last time I did it in Wayfinder btw, so no tweak items, no past life feats. It was great fun. Besides, cleric hires are too good in lower level undead quests.

    Default it happens

It happens. I always open up my LFM's to Pugs. My thoughts are: "the more people that are raid ready or experienced, the better. Still..... there's some silly players out there.

    Talking

    ...... PUGS are "interesting"?

...... we should medicate ourselves prior to tossing LFM's?

...... I won't be TR'ng anytime soon. (And luckily have no need on any toon...)

...... there is proof the "no child left behind program" works?

I find this thread interesting for a couple of reasons...

I've only been playing this game for about 5 months. I still have a ton to learn and most of the people I run with have forgotten more about this game than I have even learned yet. I am lucky enough to be in a guild with great players who don't mind taking the time to hold my hand through some stuff.

But there are times when I search LFM's for people to run with if its during the middle of the day and not a lot of my guildies are on and honestly, some of them scare me away.

I see some with "KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING", or "I'M NOT A BABYSITTER" and I shy away from them because half the time I DON'T know what I am doing. The problem is how can I ever learn if I can find a group to join or some elitest prick (not sure if that word is allowed on here, if not my apologies!) is too good to bother to let me run with him even at low levels?

Believe me I understand where some of you are coming from because I have been in pugs and wiped in normal Shrouds and just left sitting there shaking my head because I know I am capable of doing that raid well. I am just pointing out that some of us "n00bs" are just trying to become really good players so that we can run with the big dogs at some point and eventually end up on their level.

    Anyway, theres my 2 cents

Most of my LFMs are of the byoh and zerg kind. However, when I get a tell from a person being honest about them not knowing the quest, and asking if I could take them anyway and show them the quest I will gladly accept them and teach them how to run the quest.

Asking is such a simple thing. I'd rather have people admit they have never ran something before. That way I can guide them and give them information about the quest and be more careful running it. I seriously hate it when people join and pretend they know the quest to get a free ride in my zerg groups, and then proceed to get their faces blown up in traps or pick up/pull stuff they should not.

Totally understandable. And I understand that this is a big reason people hate to pug. Im always honest with the groups I join about my skill level, even so Ive come across some real ******** who scream about my nuking their XP because I died or got lost. I'm a girl, so I'm sure people are more accepting of me and willing to help than a guy in my position lol.

I dislike pugs who join my group and summon hires--because always the hire dies, as it seems that most people who think that they still need a cleric hireling in a pug that already has healers, have no idea handle hirelings.

This past life I was a cleric, and people kept summoning clerics at the beginning, I would say, "Well, you could at least Summon an Arcane or Bard with Haste and CC."

That said, when I solo harder stuff, I will summon the DV QUEEN and park her at the beginning on both my Divines and Casters.

P.S. It's not the xp penalty from the hire dying, it is that once the hire dies, it seems to do so over and over, often times their owner is dying right after, because the owner of the hire thinks that they don't need to stay with group. So, since I'm too nice to carry soul stones, I end up using a ton of rez scrolls, and things take much much longer.

I would stay away from these lfm's in general. The majority of the time there is an inverse correlation of the amount of skill asked for via lfm and the skill of the leader. The best leaders/players can take anyone and still succeed thus they dont need to discriminate.

Meh, when I PUG quests I do it knowing full well that I might lose 10% from deaths.

People that get mad over that 10% should not PUG in the first place.

agree... its just a game.. ridiculing a player on the forums because he died is kinda a d*** move ..yeah he shouldnt have joined your group in the first place ..he overeached he died then gets made fun of on the forums.. what a wonderfull game experience for him..hopefully he tells prospective future ddo players about the wonderfull experience he had ....

this is why .... when you read reviews from players about ddo on other sites the most common complaint by far isnt bugs but the player base

you dont remember the normal days so much.. what you do remember are the days you got embarased/ridiculed in front of everyone those stick with and make a game designed to be fun....not

I am not ridiculing anyone, if I was I would have included his name. I also asked his permission before posting it on the forums and he said ''sure, I am sure people will get a good laugh out of it, go ahead''.

I think you are over-reacting, this was just meant to be a quick laugh and not start a bunch of drama, but then again, it is the DDO forums... should have known better.

if i misread your intentions i apoligize..but the tone and subject matter of your post and many of the replys seemed to support my assertation of the typical belittle players who make mistakes post...

i was not the only poster who missed your stated intention with this thread
