Default Make Challenge Ingrediants less dependant on Character Level vs. Challenge Level

    As the title says.

Please make challenge ingredient rewards less dependent on the ratio of Character Level vs. Challenge Level.

I recommend having a base value that is modified by an equation something like this:

    Score Multiplier x ( 0.5 + ( 0.5 * 1.25 ^ (Challenge Level - Character Level) ) )

That way, you'll never receive less than half the multiplier. This makes it so characters who are L25 trying to farm challenges that are lower level (i.e. Cannith Challenges for the base item, duoing Eveningstar Challenges, etc.) can actually have a chance of getting the items they are trying to get as opposed to grinding a quest so many times it makes banging your head against a brick wall look appealing.

Sure, having some of the challenges cap at CR 15 is pretty pitiful when the only way to delevel a character in this game is to TR, so if you already took those high levels, you're screwed into grinding for a loooooong time.

One thing i would suggest for those 4-15 challenges is just to make a lvl 4 vet character to farm the mats. Those challenges are incredibly easy at level 4 and you can crush them with just the starter gear. Assuming you have a character slot, and the shared bank of course.

I would agree to this (or something similar) if such a formula applied when:
    • The character was playing the challenge at a character level over the challenge's level.
    • The challenge was being played on the highest level available to that challenge.

Otherwise, you would end up with 2 problems:
    • A very high leveled character (level 20+) would have a fairly small change in the payout between level 4 to 15 challenge, but the rate of killing and threat of the monsters is fairly drastic between that 11 level range.
    • A very low leveled character (level 1) could rake in absurd ingredient amounts on very high level challenges that have low monster interactions (such as Buying Time). Being able to earn 1500 to 4500 Epic Mephit Wings in 5 minutes may be a bit much.

Those are concerns I have as well, but the numbers can be tweaked.to support that by making the first 0.5 a 0.2 and the second 0.5 a 0.8. Or whatever.

My primary reason for this is related to people who can't find a good group to do challenges and end up short-manning a lower difficulty.

My secondary reason is related to the Cannith Challenges. Spefically, that folks are penalized for leveling up their character by having to grind the challenges more to get the base item they want.

Granted, folks could create a Veteran character to do the challenges and pass them over, but that is a poor work-around in my opinion.

Veteran also not an option for the Eveningstar ones, as per many complaints... those bind to character. My character is 25 with no plans to TR, so the Iron Cloak is a spectacular grind. Such a change is more important now than with just the cannith ones.

Yeah, the Eveningstar ones effectively punish a player for leveling up by either requiring more difficult runs or significantly less ingredient payout.

It is better to not level and just farm the Eveningstar challenges pre-leveling at the current payout.
