I just had a terrifying and depressing first time attempting the Lord of Blades on Epic Hard mode. I got the double rainbow effect "Extreme Cold" on the Lord of Blades:


Previously I have applied this to the training dummy, and it results in it being killed multiple times until my airship instance expires. This can be useful and gives me an extra +2 to hit mysteriously when in the middle of quests. However, it was not very useful here as the Lord of Blades would consistently target me, this resulted in my swift death on multiple occasions. At least I would continue to damage him whilst I was dead:


However, whenever I was raised I would instantly regain his attention, generally resulting in a swift death as I attempted to stand still and let the main tank get his attention back. The message being: don't use double rainbow on the Lord of Blades, unless you are the main tank!

On the plus side, I'd estimate I did at least 10k damage to him whilst I was dead, here is a bigger, presumably critical, example of the extreme cold hitting him:


To conclude the story, my raid was led by a very strong guild and the rest of my party was also very strong and completed anyway, so at least the ending was happy.
