From the one and only Eagles song I actually like, I quote "Get Over It"
The mass bannings in Mabar were Turbine's mistake and, if you were on a Sub, that means you were banned, because of THEIR bug that we ask them to fix on a daily basis but still hasn't been fixed, and you did not get reimbursed.

CC's "problems" were you could sell things you earned. Granted, they didn't deserve to be sold for as much as they were... but there was nothing wrong with it inherently (the idea at least, not the actual price).

On top of which, CC is fun, Mabar is not, CC has items for everyone, Mabar has items for two very specific builds. CC has kobolds and pirates and music, Mabar has game crashing lag monsters. CC has control over your group, Mabar has maybe the worst system ever developed in a game.

Honestly, if you did 3 things to Mabar, bring it in line with CC basically, it would be fine.
    1) Let us pick our groups to do the dragon
    2) Increase the available items to be useful to most, if not all, classes.
    3) Increase, significantly, the dragon opening. On Thelanis, last year, I believe, (which is the 2nd most populated server) the dragon opened, some days, only once or twice each day, three or four times on a weekend.

In CC, it's usually up within an hour from being run, and you can run it twice each time.

All very good points here wish Turbine would read and do these things.

    4) Make Mabar it's own instance. Not just the dragon, the whole thing. I don't have a problem with the dragon. My problem is that I don't want to be trucking along and BAM! here comes a cleric, dropping nukes and wiping my whole spawn point three seconds before I kill the bloody thing I'm beating on.
    5) Get rid of the bloody pumpkin bombs. Seriously.

seriously, I never enjoyed mabar, did it only once in my time on ddo, then left hastily without getting any gear. In the other hand, I did CC twice, and both times had an extremely enjoyable time. getting compasses were never hard once you figured out how. I remember the second time I would get the grog that let you gain the coins from regular game mobs, then sit in kobold assualt and farm them while so I could get a decent amount of compasses before helping get map pieces. Also, the event opened usually every 30 mins to half an hour, and you could sometimes get 3 to 4 runs in one opening with a good group. Also, most of the players doing CC would interact with each other a joke around while waiting for it to open. This made it feel fun no matter what I was doing.

It severely disappoints me that the only event that i actually actively spent time in was removed this year. Sure I used the festivult jester, but i would be collecting those things anyway from quests.

Lol, never heard of this bug that needs to be fixed, just heard of the mass bannings, and it was a one time event. It didn't happen last year, or no one posted it on the forums

CC's "problems" were you could sell things you earned. Granted, they didn't deserve to be sold for as much as they were... but there was nothing wrong with it inherently (the idea at least, not the actual price). This spread into the in game economy, which while it didn't completely last, the affects stayed for a while

On top of which, CC is fun, Mabar is not, CC has items for everyone, Mabar has items for two very specific builds. CC has kobolds and pirates and music, Mabar has game crashing lag monsters. CC has control over your group, Mabar has maybe the worst system ever developed in a game. CC is only fun if you aren't sick to death of god **** kobolds. I am, they are everywhere in DDO... and we have several challenges with the same mechanics and kobold voices. CC loot is ok, kinda meh, but ok. I have the dagger, and until U14 came out I was using it all the time. Since U14 I used it.... twice, for the clicky.... that's good loot you have there lol. Ok it's one item, but from what I have seen the other loot is a bit lackluster.

Mabar is fun to me, I enjoyed it every time it came to the servers, and I have not experienced any of the crash lag monsters. That just tells me people need a) Better hardware or b)better internet or c)both?. I wasn't running on that great of a computer for the last two years and had no issues. And I know several people and builds that use the Cloak of Night, I also use the robe of shadows and the epic handwraps. Besides there is going to be an update to loot, so either these items are being upgraded, or we might see some new stuff.

Honestly, if you did 3 things to Mabar, bring it in line with CC basically, it would be fine.
    1) Let us pick our groups to do the dragon It's really NOT that hard to work as a team in the dragon. Communication is key. If you prep something like "Dragon in Northwest" in your general chat before the dragon shows up, you can quickly post it. I haven't been in a failed run, so really it's not that difficult.
2)Increase the available items to be useful to most, if not all, classes. Sure why not
    3) Increase, significantly, the dragon opening. On Thelanis, last year, I believe, (which is the 2nd most populated server) the dragon opened, some days, only once or twice each day, three or four times on a weekend. Really? On Ghallanda I saw it open at least once every two hours.... if it was a slow day. I managed to get the ingreds I needed for the Robe of Shadow to go from level 4 to 20 in 2-4 hours last year, on my monk (Nightsheild clicky for the win)

In CC, it's usually up within an hour from being run, and you can run it twice each time. Yes and I still couldn't finish an item from t1 to t3 in 2-4 hours

I really like Mabar (love Halloween, love the cloak for all my characters, like some of the other loot) but I have to agree with most of the points. I hate the idea that I can be on the game for as much as a couple of hours before the dragon instance will open. Then if it fails you are SOL if you can't stay on for another couple of hours. On top of that, there have been times when it opens but I don't have a key. That is really frustrating since it opens so few times.

I also agree that clerics/casters have the advantage in the graveyard. I always switch to those characters to do Mabar and I feel bad for people who don't have that option or prefer a different class.

However, I am very sad that the Cove will not be open this September. It is the best festival in the game and I was really looking forward to it. I hope that the devs don't make us wait too long for it or they might have a mutiny on their hands

    ARRGH!!!

I be a angry the landlubbers have kept me from my booty!! I be needing my mates to break me free from my prison the landlubbers call work (and yes, I dressed up as a pirate today )

As far as Mabar, I really hate it. It has been a horrid experience for me every year. I had tons of lag/crashes and the crashes always happened when the dragon appeared so it was near impossible to get any scales. The worst would be when we beat the dragon and I would dc and get kicked before I got my scale. Also, I am on Thelanis and the dragon hardly opened up ever, and I played from the moment I got home from work until I had to get ready for work.

Last year I decided to just try to farm what I could for motes (which I couldn't do very fast) and sell them to make a bit of money. I am wishing now I saved at least a few.

I wish that they would change the way to get items in that you can get lvl 8 or higher gear without having to first get lvl 4 and work your way up.

Am I allowed to say "you are an idiot"? or will I get banned?

    Just curious.

An expression that you're neither impressed nor offended. Essentially not worth a reaction.
