Crystal Cove - waiting in the wings, yes?

I thought we already had a CC like place to enjoy all the quite annoying kobold banter. I call it "House Cannith Challenges... Excluding Dr. Rushmores's mansion... to an extent" or HCCEDMTME for short lol.

I have no real problem with CC as far as loot goes, mechanics... meh. My issue is that you can't fill a raid or even general quests while the event is on. Or if you do fill a raid it takes 1-3 hours.

Not everyone spends all their time playing 20 toons, and those 20 toons don't REALLY need each item. It's nice, but not needed.

Edit: Personally hated CC. The coins, then the gems, then the dragonshards. And only if you had a good group did you get a decent amount of them in a run, and then the costs of upgrades using the dragonshards.... a lot more grind than I found Mabar to be.

As long as you're okay with them not fixing bugs and not fixing lag.

They haven't gotten around to fixing those things yet, so I imagine some of us are pretty okay with typical behavior at this point. Seriously, you should see if they have a paid position for apologist.

Happy for the Mabar-loving folks that it's coming back. Sucks that CC isn't since it's better (loot's better, mechanics are better, teamwork is better).

theres only one real issue with this you take your one, event that once its working, seems to stay working the whole event, and dont put it back out, you put the one event that usually within 4-5 hours is so lag filled only 2 out of 5 or 6 runs complete it, and makes delaras completely unusable due to lag and mobs spawning, really need to make a new instance where mabar takes place, maybe an alternate delaras where you teleport to so you don't severely lag one of your quest areas to the point it takes forever to get to the quests and run them since you keep having to run in and out of it, the items are nice, but please fix the lag with the event before it comes out again

2. Everyone liked it

By applying logic, concentrate on putting Mabar in over Crystal Cove.

I also would have returned to play the crystal cove. The design of that live event is ingenious and fun. The Mabar encounter is far less enjoyable on almost every level.

I've been away from the game for a long time but always look to re-connect when these live events happen. They are huge draws and it is unfortunate that so much time has gone by and apparently the work was never done. It really shows poorly, I'm afraid.

I'd like to come back full time Turbine (having just bought the expansion and all the goodies), just waiting for you to fix that whole "we do what we want, instead of what we should" thing...

The flying ship transporting the crystals from CC landed over delera's graveyard due to a enginee problems caused by a mass infection.
Now while the kobolds turned into zombies the other crew turned into other dangerous undead species.
The phantasmal dragon in delera's mentally control all the other undead to collect crystals for him (shinieeeeeeees *__*).
The kobolds (too stupid to be influenced by such a charismatic presence as the dragon) just stay around while whining phrases like "Kobold's eat fresh brain tonight" and seems they are particularly attracted by some will o'the wisp soaring over some strange bone-sticks.
Lead they way to collect crystals back while fighting the hordes of the dragon, and the dragon itself, in the attempt to gain back what the ship was transporting.
The mineral company would be happy to compensate your effort for this generously.

Pls tell me this is the upgrade to mabar :P

This was only posted *after* people expressed interest in CC, *not* as soon as the devs knew it was borked again. I think they've known CC was busted since U14; they just didn't tell us.

Note to devs: be a little more proactive and transparent and people will love you.

Methinks it boils down to this. Many eggs have been placed into the Forgotten Realms expansion basket. Mabar is not going to draw as much away from Forgotten Realms as Crystal Cove would. It's an event, but one with a more limited appeal. Personally, I prefer CC and I am saddened that it is borked and abandoned.

That said, I do have a warforged ninja vampire now so I guess I'll try some Mabar. I hope materials are BTA and not BTC.

This sums it up. They didn't tell us why the game was down today, they didn't tell us it was going to be down either, if it really was "scheduled" and if it wasn't really scheduled, then they lied to us about that.

Honesty is the best policy. It's not just an elementary school motto, it's good for business.

Oh, and if you're going to cut Cove but not Mabar, please remember to give a weekend ban to everyone who participates again

Crystal Cove is a crappy grind. I was around when it came by last time, only managed to get enough coins and diamonds to make a pair of T1 ML 20 daggers and a Cav Plate (just because they don't require dragonshards) for my casters before having to soak my brain in bleach and promising to never come back. Can't comment on mabar due to not being around for last time.

Mabar has always been BtC. Sorry...

The materials are indeed BTA -- some are even unbound -- so you can freely farm up the gear you want on whichever alt works the best. When you take those BTA materials and actually create an item, though, the item is BTC out of the gate. So be sure not to make your robes until you switch over to your ninja vampire.

The Cove is not ready because they have to nerf the xp to 800xp per run so you only run it for the items and not the xp, just like all the other challenges.

Mabar is ready because they dont have to nerf the xp because you dont get any. Also it will be there to cut down on the amount of players again by banning them from the game for 3 days for DCing in it due to lag and it was seen as cheating.

Yes i am a bit bitter at the moment might be why iv not played the game in 2 weeks and i find that sad because i use to love playing it.

The mass bannings were from 2 years ago... were admitted to be a mistake, and the devs apologized. Dunno why everyone on these forums are bitter about Mabar, but forget CC had it's own issues too, nobody remembers that though lol.
