    Question Suggest me a good build for small groups

    I have 32pt builds unlocked and would prefer something that doesn't require tomes from the very beginning. I'm looking for a character that can do traps, but can also do other things effectively. I'm playing a rogue occasionally, it's fun...but I feel like a weak**** a lot. I do a lot of two and three-manning with my friends and I initially thought Cleric would fill a critical role in out party, but reality is: I suck at keeping people alive, hell, even hirelings do better then me

    I've thought about Rogue/Monk, but not sure how that would come out.

    An alternative is a Druid/Ranger (or dual wielding Druid ), but again...not sure if that's feasible.

    Thanks!

    A possible nice build for what you want would be an Axsinger

    Dwarf 15 Bard/3 Rogue/2 Fighter

    Dwarven waraxes, bard buffs, traps and reasonable DPS

    Dont have time to find the full build but warchanter

    if you have a +2 Dex tome put all points into str

    Str = 14 (3 level up points go here)
    Dex = 15 (2x level ups so you get ITWF at level 9)
    Con = 16
    Int = 10
    Wis = 8
    Cha = 12
    Dex - Leader - THΣ ЏΠΣΔЯТΗΣÐ ΔЯСΔΠΔ
    I don't do serious, it no fun

    I would suggest Artificer if you have it.

    Get some good DPS, buffs, trap skills, UMD and some healing.

    If you don't have arti you could try my other build. A 18/1/1 Ranger/Fighter/Rogue. You get Tempest TWF, trap skills, some buffs, some healing and UMD.

    ... a soldier,
    Full of strange oaths, and bearded like the pard,
    Jealous in honor, sudden and quick in quarrel,
    Seeking the bubble reputation,
    Even in the dragon's mouth.

    I'd second the artificer - they're a real "bag of tricks" kind of class with powerful ranged attacks - almost ridiculously powerful in low levels especially, after all no-one else can fire off up to 6 different damage numbers simultaneously at that point! - trap skills, a whole raft of bonuses to UMD & item usage meaning at higher levels they can wield practically any scroll or wand (sometimes wands with spells from their spell list can actually be more powerful from wands than casting from memory due to the CL increase), a nice collection of buffs to help you & your party break through virtually any DR type & at high level there is no-one who can cast a more powerful bladebarrier (from damage numbers, not necessarily DC). Oh, and you get a dog, which while not always 100% effective, can be a handy extra lever puller & mob distraction/automated debuffer Oh, and if necessary you can even heal allies somewhat by throwing potions at their heads.
    I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

    I think I'm sold, would appreciate it if you could find me the build details

    And no, I don't have Artificer unlocked yet.

    18 wizard / 2 rogue, ideally WF AM (Necro/conj)... 1 rogue, 7 wizard, 1 rogue, rest wizard.

    You will have better CC and DPS than the bard. You will have much better instant kills, mostly by dint of having them at all. You will be arguably better at traps via Insightful Reflexes.

    Feats
    1 Insightful Reflexes
    2 SF: Conjuration
    3 Toughness
    6 Heighten & Mental Toughness
    9 Maximize (for short manning, you may want to switch Max and Heighten)
    12 GSF: Necro & SF: Necro
    15 Spell Pen
    16 Quicken
    18 Greater Spell Pen

    Enhancements
    7/1/1 Electric and Ice
    1/0/0 Repair, Force, and Fire
    x/1/1 Acid (x is whatever you have left after everything else)

    Archmage 4 (requires Concentration 3, Energy of the Scholar 3, and Intelligence 3)
    Necro Spell Mastery 2
    Conjuration Secondary Spell Mastery 1
    Web SLA (requires Grease SLA)

    Healer's Friend 1
    Inscribed Armor 1
    Improved Maximize 1
    Toughness 2
    Some Spell Pen

    A lot of good suggestions so far.

    The Amazon (12 barb/6 ranger/2 rogue) is one I'm playing and like very much: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php...81#post2357981

    As written, it's set up for heavy picks which may be not the best plan anymore. But that's an easy adjustment to make.

    Thanks for the replies everyone. Taking a glance at all the suggestions, the Bard/Fighter/Rogue still stands out as the best IMHO. I already played a Barbarian, i like it, but i'm looking for something different then a Barbarian again. The Wizard/Rogue, while i know is a pretty good build, i believe is not for me as i didn't enjoy playing a Wizard much. I've already tinkered with the Bard though and besides being a little weak, i enjoyed playing it a lot.
