I would actually LOVE to see that! I would PAY to see that!

    Thanks for the laugh

PS: If +4's were sold in the store I would buy them-well, maybe not, since they will probably be priced about 8 to 10k tp! OOh but they could come with a cute, cuddly pixel pet! Maybe a gnome pet? lol

Given the prices of the other tomes, a single stat +4 tome should sell for around 1295 TP and a supreme +4 tome should sell for around 4495 TP.

That's my opinion as well. Even though I don't grind for rare loot, I do not like the idea of the best loot being bought from the DDO store.

Although, I would support +4 tomes dropping more often in the game.

This sums up my feelings. Why not sell fully equipped uber toons on the store. Then people can download DDO, get out the credit card, purchase the best toon available and then put up there feet with a can of beer. OK, A slight over reaction...but honestly. Learn some work ethics. I don't have +4 Tomes. Please leave some rare items in the game that are extra special once in a toons life moments.

I guess since everyone does not want to play the game but just have shiny things and look uber, ok. Why not just sell everything that is in game online, if, if you own the pack it drops in. So you want a bloodstone, own the desert. You want GS mats own vale.

Great way for DDO to make money and does not affect me if Joe blow looks uber. Gear does not make the player.

This whole pay to win debate is interesting to me, because I don't think its as clear cut as we may believe. There are other things to consider. For example, think for a moment about a trainer for DDO. You can never die. This is for sale for 4995 TP in the store.

Now, you could argue that someone who had this trainer would get bored after a while and leave, but I would counter that the kind of person who would buy this trainer would get bored and leave anyway when they kept dying and got frustrated.

My dad, for example, only ever plays single-player games with trainers on. He plays games for the content and interactive stories, not the twitch-skill challenge. He's 58 now; his days of fast reflexes and adrenaline highs are behind him. This is a market DDO currently basically excludes. (Unless you consider Casual trainer-mode. I don't, after some consideration.)

Now he may be the kind of customer that would come in on F2P, buy the trainer and then work his way through all the available content and perhaps buy more, if he liked the stories. Currently though, he'd never touch this game with a ten-foot pole.

So I guess my question is; is P2W always actually bad? Does my Dad, with this never-die trainer on, actually harm your enjoyment? Are some players so compulsive that, if it's available, they must have it, and then would burn out on the game earlier than usual? If this is true, are they the kind that would've stuck around and spent more on resources whilst farming the eSOS and other items that basically give you trainer-mode anyway?

As others have said, there is no PVP of any value in DDO to worry about one players' impact on another. Even if there were you could make some store items PVE-only to limit their usefulness.

I dunno, it just seems to me this whole belief that P2W=bad is an unassailable truth is flawed and also possibly keeping some revenue out of the game that could otherwise serve its development.

I think i agree with sirgog. If you want to have a properly geared toon, you should have to play this game all day every day on several alts for several years. If you have a job, or a life; or enjoy reaching goals as opposed to endlessly striving towards unobtainable goals whos' fruition is based on nothing you can control, we think you should play some other game.

Forget power creep, just give me the 'I win' button. Why waste time. I'll pay 100 bucks for it.

Great Idea, let us buy the "Win" item in the ddo store for 100 dollars and they send a hard-copy certificate that you have won the game.

I presume everyone who has been lucky enough to pull a +4 tome has received the same certificate?

I would ask them, but it seems clear that once you pull a +4 tome you have "won" the game and will no longer be playing. Right?

Probably a troll, but sure why not, add esos, eross, redscale, +5 tomes, +6 tomes, +7 tomes, +9000 fate tomes, completionist feat. After all, those non elitist players dont actually have time to play the game when they log into game.

Just imagine, it will be a perfect game, just no reason to play it.

no, absolutely not. I cant disagree with your suggestion more.

It actualy takes some time and effort to get any +4 tome, let alone the ones you want for that char.

It's a joke... how about people who want +4 tomes sold in the store just play the game and have fun. If you get a +4 tome than that's great! If not then no big deal, it's not going to "break" your character/build. And with all the new epic level content being run you probably have a higher probability of getting one now than previously.

Putting +4 tomes is just adding to the power creep... I am suggesting we just bypass power creep in its entirety. Go straight to the "I win" button.
