I've been out of the game for a long while now, 1.5 years I think, but am looking at it again now, thinking about maybe jumping back in. Needless to say though, I'm completely in the dark about the new content and all the changes since made since I stopped playing.
So anyway, I was looking at a Druid/Monk multiclass, possibly 12Monk/8Druid since I love Monks, druids are new and shiny, and the split is possible and seems kinda fun on the surface so hey why not? Anyway, maybe my search-fu is weak, but I haven't been able to find all the information I want about how these classes work together. More specifically, how monks and Wild Shape interact. There is some stuff on DDO-wiki, but I have a couple of questions, still.
First off, I know monk stances work in Animal Form, but how about Ki strikes, Finishing Moves and other monk abilities?
Does the wolf form 30% attack speed increase stack with monk attack speed increasing effects, such as the innate monk unarmed speed bonus, or Wind Stance?
I know monks can use Flame Blade without being uncentered. However, if changing to an animal form with a flame blade equipped, will you still do base damage according to you monk Unarmed Strike level, only tack on the Fire effect from the spell? I don't see why not, but better to ask. Also, I take it Flame Blade overrides your currently equipped weapon and any enchantments it would have, even when changing to an animal form?
The Adrenaline abilities from FotW says part of the effect is "you are considered raging" until your next attack. I wonder, does this uncenter monks? Assuming it does not, does the raging state prevent using Ki strikes or finishers? Otherwise that could set up for fun crit-monk play in Winter Wolf form, following the auto-crit Adrenaline with a triple earth finisher for guaranteed x5 criticals. Winter Wolf with Greater Mountain Stance and Overwhelming Critical could also end up with a 17-18 x3 and 19-20 x5 base Crit profile, which seems pretty fun.
Finally, assuming Ki strikes etc do work in animal form... Is there any point to trying a build like this even as a flavour/fun build?
EDIT: I realize Legendary Dreadnought and not FotW is probably the better Epic Destiny for this concept, regardless of whether adrenaline works with monks or not. I was merely interested in the mechanics of it![]()
