Lots of people like using the Stonedust Handwraps with Vampirism added.

I'm quite partial to acid/shocking of bleed (1d8)

IMHO make sure to increase your + for +5 guaranteed damage and more +to hit before thinking about bursts for possible 1-6 damage

keep an eye out for silver threaded wraps for DR breaking.

find some +10 stunners and beat the mobs senseless.

If your having trouble getting metal wraps to craft on for boss beating duties fire up necroII and farm Shadow Crypt for devout handwraps.

By time you get done farming your devoutes you will be at least level 12 and bale to strap on your vampiric stonedusts. Need to farm medusa quEst in the lords march plaza quest for the base then from the second chain for a shadow staff and mark of tyzra roc ( purple trident)
They are BtC on equip so if you have plat you can buy from the AH.

From there it is the vale for your minII HP item
Then off to farm Amarth for boot ingredients so you can get your holyburst ring.

Then either farm a second ring for elemental burst ring or head out to the under dark to grab a seal of house do'rinbar for stunning +10 ring (or +5 exceptional)
Move along , Nothing to see here

    Here's my priority list:
    Attack bonus
    Stunning
    Gravy

Stonedust's fall into this pretty nicely, +5 attack bonus +6 stunning, the rest is gravy, but I don't think you can get stunners with this good an AB this early otherwise.

Beyond getting these, useful wraps to get are the usual vorpal types, smiting, banishing and disrupting. Mabar is coming up for a good set of disruption wraps. I have a pair of 12s and 20s, and will make sure I finish making 4s 8s and 16s this year. Unstable handwraps are a nice option as well for all purpose outsider beaters (from reign of madness chain), but I find I never use them really.

    thx all for replies

i already have stonedust base hw, mark and shadow staff.. its rly worth? i not seeing so many great gains with lesser vampirism im using now

about devout, loot gods dont wanna i grab one of them... lots of toons, always farming shadow crypt, never got 1

hmm.. so do you think a +5 acid/holy/shock > +1 burst?... will try to see it
    is unstable hw fixed?

    banishing ... checked
    disrupting ... checked
    smiting ... checked
vorpal.... checked (ring from Canith challenges)

    others options?

When auto-crits were still in the game, burst > acid/shock/holy. But now that crits are no longer guaranteed, that +damage and +hit are worth it.

I usually carry around several different greater bane wraps for the more commonly encountered monsters: vermin, giant, human, aberration, ooze... anarchic silver wraps of greater lawful outside bane...

Race restricted paralyzers start showing up at level 10 and unrestricted at 12. Having a set of those makes life almost too easy provided the paralyzed mobs don't go skittering about. I've found that they still work on spiders at least in MotU.

Yes, upgraded stonedust wraps are worth it.

The vampirism gives you back base 1hp on every hit, this is amplified by your healing amp.

Build up your healing amp.. with a decent healing amp and fast attack speed I rarely ever had to drink a heal pot. getting 2-4 hp back every punch.

Stunning is great, should be stunning every stunnable mob when you can, stunned mobs=more output damage and less incoming damage.

I use these as my general purpose wraps for levelling right up to 20, swap out situational wraps as needed.

    At level 10...

3BC has wraps that allow you to do piercing damage. Useful against certain spiders and rakshasas.

At level 16 you could farm for the ivy wraps for the same thing.

Beyond that.... you are probably good.

    Pure progression... usually something like:

Off the boat, Fernian wraps. The new ones from 3BC are nice too, but as far as I can tell you will spend the rest of your life farming them.

I keep upgrading a pair of +X Acid/Shock of Bleed as I level.

    Mid-levels:
    Vamperic Stonedust wraps (godly, really)
    Devout wraps
    Stunning +10

As soon as they are available, they never leave:
    Smiting
    Banishing
Disrupting (I have mabar wraps at lvl 8/12/16/20)
    Paralyzing
    Improved Destruction
    Improved Cursespewing
Silverthreaded / metal bypassing boss beaters
(often times MoB and WoE- but I rarely use them)

    High-levels:
    Tharaak wraps
    Alchemical wraps
    Antipode
Currently playing with several combos of Lightning strike, annihilation, riptide, mauling, and so on. Trying to find the best combos with +6 / AML20. The damage gets pretty crazy!

Vampiric stonedusts get my vote for best wraps in the game. Incredibly useful in mid to late levels, they help your survivability a bunch. My l25 monk still uses them on occasions when the cleric is dead or otherwise occupied.

Beyond that, a nice set of boss beaters (holy/silver) are quite nice, if hard to get. A good set of stunners with some extra damage (alchemicals are good there). Banishers/disruptors/smiters situationally, and maybe a set of dynamos or something to beat on bosses or high HP mobs. Mabar wraps are quite nice for anything undead.

I'm using a scintillating of frost or something like that as high end damage/stun wraps.

Random loot has been wierd lately but paralizers were always in the the big 10s (vorpal, smite, disrupt , paralyzer)

You used to be able to get level 8 RR paras.

I'm not sure that is the case anymore.

I've not seen a set of RR paralyzing wraps at level 8 in a long, long while. And that last time they were for halflings - like they can't just immobilize a mob with their melon-headed cuteness.

Sorry to be pernickity but unless things have changed recently, I think you are a bit out on the ML.

    +1 RR Para: ML8
    +1 No restriction Para: ML10

Same for Disruption & Smiting iirc. Unless I am having a major brainfart.

You can find some nice +2 x (have seen seeker and flaming) of hemorraging (ml:6) this gives bleed and slicing?

I tried to bind and add the force ritual but that failed for some reason - not sure if it is a bug or not

In the old days, it was worth putting icy burst on a nice pair of wraps...

Grave Wrappings should be your number one priority for a set of lvl 20 handwraps. The combination of Stunning +10, Improved Destruction, 2-12 untyped damage, level drain + temporary hp proc is simply too good to pass up. You can pretty much plow through anything with just these handwraps alone.

Most of the time because I'm solo/lowman & lazy I tend to run with +5 X of Vampirism on some AML20 wraps. X being screaming, holy, whatever...

I find Nightmare wraps to be handy (yes, even now) for high HP elementals as they have a decent chance of killing them before DPS does.

Those are lacerating wraps. I TR'ed my dark monk to light(to try it out) and picked up a set of +1 frost of lacerating wraps. Throw in a spare hand belt and you can still stun reliably and the d8+d6 untyped damage is awesome.

Just need a set I can Icy burst when festivult comes around again now...
