Default Location improvement: Temple of the Sovereign Host

Can scroll and potion vendors be installed in the temple in House Deneith, please, devs? Clerics might be more likely to use Word of Recall - a currently rather useless spell - more often if they could refresh their adventuring gear at the end point. Also, a discount determined by cleric level would be a very nice addition - make it a really special place for clerics to spend their time (and I say that as someone who has only played a cleric for a short time, a very long time ago, so I've no personal benefit to gain from it).

As it stands, the temple is a very empty, not very useful and pretty much one-use-only-per-life location. It could be much, much more! And clerics need a bit more encouragement and love, so this would be a great little perk to thank them for all their tireless sprinting, sweating, swearing, muttering and general generous healing of others

I think there's already a thread on this, but nevertheless i agree. They should (as mentioned in the other thread) make it the divine equivalent of the portable hole. I would also like if they added more temples for the different religions, IE: Lord of blades, Silver flame (does anyone even choose them?), Undying court, etc.

IMHO, the ToSH should be the Portable Hole for divine casters. Which, currently, it ain't. It's not anything, really - but a large house for a single quest giver. As it stands, BAM is perhaps the most useful example of quest-sharing in the game so only one person has to slog to House D, wade through the awful and needlessly labyrinthine NPC dialog to pick up the quest, then slog back to House K.

Totally agreed, it needs to be much much more. But after so much time has elapsed with the darn thing going unused - I think it'd almost be better to move the NPC to House K, and shutter the Temple. It's just pointless and annoying time grind.

I agree, what i would like to see:
    - Some potion and scroll vendor.
    - Maybe some rare pots, like res 20 or critical cures, restoration... and of course all divine ingrediens.
    - Altar of SH you can pray to it, and regain health/mana rapidly.

Oh that's just not going to work.
Can't cram too many religions in one place , just look at Israel.

A while back, I posted a thread on the subject of creating temples for the various deities and to transform them into divine versions of the portable hole.

My suggestions for this are at http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?p=4573220

Because it should be SO MUCH MORE than these suggestions!

The TotSH should have special vendors that ONLY sell to characters with TotSH enhancements, and sell special craftable long swords like the one's in the DDO Store. They should sell discounted potions based on healing and so forth.

THEN, Word of Recall should be expanded... to teleport to different churches. Silver Flame (in the Market Place next to the Catacombs, or maybe in the catacombs), LotB (somewhere in House C), the blood of Vol (upper necro), the cot6 (to cult of the 6... kinda useless, because by the time you get word of recall, you're done with cot6, but oh well), Cult of the Dragon Below (Harbor, near the portal to eveningstar), Path of inspiration (IQ), Vulkoor (sands) and the Undying court (House P). Each selling DDO Store versions of discounted favored weapons, and potions that correspond to their domains.

Maybe only let these work for toons one step away from to the church's alignments, so the spell isn't overpowered or take away from Arcane's teleport/greater teleport spell.

I'd add a spirit binder to this list, too - makes sense for the temple to call their own back to the holy roost for recuperation.

On another note: how are res 20 potions rare? I like the idea of them being on the vendor, but they're already available to buy in the Twelve.

On a further note: apologies for not necroing the other thread about the Sovereign Host (which someone else has done, thankfully) - wasn't sure of the policy in this forum for necroing, but I know most people don't like it on the other fora.

Good to see so many people want an improvement to the Sovereign Host temple and there are some great ideas being floated It could be an excellent location - a real holy hub - so I hope the devs do give it a polish. It just sort of feels incomplete as it now stands. I want candles, torches, incense, pilgrims, general bustle - they did a great job when they did a big refit on the rest of House D, that time, so who knows? It could happen!

I just cannot sign this... it is totally biased to just the Sovereign Host.

What do I get with my half-elf of the undying court?

    This right here.

I also think perhaps the temple should be an all-encompassing temple. It is kinda silly that a cleric of the Silver Flame would Word of Recall there. Such temples do exist in Eberron, though they are uncommon. I could still easily see such a temple existing in Stormreach.

I use Word of Recall all the time on my capped cleric though. I am often fairly far from teleporters and ship buffs. This usually gets me a little closer if I am in a place like Amrath or Eveningstar. Would prefer it be located in the Marketplace though, right next to House K.

Basically the temple is in the Forgelight, which is mostly dominated by house Deneith. Where it currently is makes sense.

You get a Chapel of the Undying Court in House Phiarlan - we can start the campaign for that after the existing Sovereign Host temple gets an upgrade, but that'll only happen if this one gets enough selfless support

as far as I could find, Undying court doesn't have a temple or chapel in Stormreach.

I would be surprised if there wasn't some sacred spot dedicated to the Undying Court, even if it's small, given the density of the elven population - and not being official hasn't stopped the Vol followers from setting up quite a cosy nest in the Phiarlan enclave. It wouldn't really be lore-breaking to have some small shrine area set aside, I reckon, although the main hub for worship would remain Shae Mordai (if I remember correctly).
