YourDDO is in search of a logo...

Hey DDOer's. YourDDO is rapidly growing in popularity and now we are interested in having a logo. Soooo... Instead of me trying to make one (I am HORRIBLE at graphic design), I'm going to ask the community for some assistance.

Here are the guidelines:

• MUST be publicly appropriate (no cussing or obscene pictures)
• MUST be either DDO or DnD themed
• MUST NOT contain any reference to Turbine, Wizard's of the Coast, Atari, or Hasbro (YourDDO is a fansite and has no direct affiliation with any of the mentioned companies or products)
• In order to be considered, you have to post the image in this thread and also post a link to a high resolution version of the logo If the link does not lead to a high res version of the logo (ie photobucket, imageshack, or other image hosting site), your submission will not count.
• The logo should be shaped in a horizontal rectangular shape, with a height to width ratio of 1:5 (any submissions that do not meet this ratio are subject to disqualification)
• MUST be in full color
• May be hand-drawn and scanned, but digital design is preferred

I would like to offer some sort of prize, like a TP code or something, but I have to dig deeper into the EULA/TOS before I can officially offer something of the sorts. I don't want to violate any rules that Turbine has in place for something like this. Stay tuned to this thread for more info about a possible prize for the winner.

The winner will be chosen, at a date yet to be determined, by myself and the primary contributors of YourDDO (at this time, we are not looking to add additional contributors, sorry). This post will be updated with the final submission date and time when it is decided. (It will be prior to November)

The winning logo will also receive full credit on YourDDO as logo designer, and may also be brought on board as a graphics and layout designer.

I like this logo, PogueMahon. One thing, the URL is not YourDDO.com. Would it be possible to take the .com off of it? I did some research on yourddo.com, and unfortunately it belongs to Discount Decorating Outlet...

I also brightened up the border of the words so it stands out a little better than before.

Still not happy with the final results but here's 2 incarnations of what I came up with:

It's the color of the center bar. The same color as the dragons just doesn't work for me and the purple seems too... well, purple. I guess I could try for green... Any preferences to colors?

I kind of want to sharpen up the bottom wing tips on those dragons too...

I'm liking everything that I'm seeing so far! And I have no preferences as to colors, but keep in mind that with adding the logo, YourDDO is going to be getting a MAJOR facelift and the site's color theme will be based around the logo. So by all means, unleash your inner creativity.

We've had some really great submissions for a logo for YourDDO. The final decision choosing which logo will be for the site will be made at 12:00 PM East Coast time on Saturday October 27, 2012.

Get those submissions in early for max consideration. Anything submitted after that date and time will not be considered.

Just a friendly reminder, if you want to submit a logo consideration for YourDDO, the deadline is tomorrow. The winner will be chosen from all posts in this thread promptly at noon eastern time.


Also, be reminded to check out the YourDDO site on October 30th. It's coming along nicely and will be really shiny and new looking come that date. Just have a few little polishing effects to add tot he design of it.
