Thread: Animal Form

    Default Animal Form

Shiradi has a number of things that proc on "offensive spells."

I've seen a number of posts mentioning that these proc whenever a spell does damage (yay DoTs!) but have yet to see one mention whether or not animal form attack spells are affected. So, does anyone know if Takedown, Jaws of Winter, etc trigger Shiradi effects?

I know it seems like kind of a no-brainer. "Well gee, Expalphalog, Shiradi procs on offensive spells and these are offensive spells, so what do you think, ya dumb putz?"

However these spells do +X[W] damage instead of straight up XdX damage like most offensive spells so it's not that cut and dry. Since they deal damage based off of your weapon, it's entirely possible that they were coded as melee attacks with an sp cost instead of being coded as spells at all (on that note, does spell power affect these attacks?). And I will thank you in the future, my hypothetical comrade, to refrain from calling me a putz.

I hate to bump my own threads, but does anybody know the answer to this? A dev response would be super, but I'll be more than happy with a player response provided that they've tested it and aren't just guessing.

I'd test it myself, but my Druid isn't level 20 yet.

Animal special attacks almost never qualify as spells for any purpose, except for using spell slots to prepare them.

That's what I was afraid of.

    Thank you.
