Default Returning to game, hoping to find players to play with.

    Hey there.

I'm a returning player... I started when DDO first came out, and left for two reasons: first, my kids were entering high school and the events they were into were taking up much of my time; and, because I couldn't find a guild to play in whose playing times meshed with mine.

I'm hoping this second go-around is much more fun!! I'm obviously an older player (kids now in college). I have played many MMOs (Ultima Online, World of Warcraft, Star Trek Online, and this one) over the last 10 years or so.

I have two low-level characters on Khyber (lvl 6 rogue and lvl 5 cleric). Since they are so low, I'd have no problems starting another character on a different server/realm.

I have never RP'd before, but I'm not opposed to trying it. My desire and past experience has been in ranged damage and healing.

The best times for me to play are after 5:00 pm (CST) any day of the week except Friday (H.S. Football is big here). Sunday's during pro-football would be out except for the mornings (again, CST). Saturdays are open at any time. I do work early, so if things were to go late, I'd prefer it to be only one night a week.

I am still relearning the game, so I hope y'all don't mind giving advice if you think I could be a good fit for your guild. If you have any questions for me, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks for your time and consideration!!!

What kind of playing style are you looking for? Hardcore raiding, casual fun or something in between? If you do not take your gaming too seriously I might suggest you look the Unrepentant Gaming community (with presence in many games):

If you are looking for a solid, well established guild and interested in coming to Gallahanda, check out the link in my signature. We are one of the largest guilds in the game and full of players with so many different styles of play. We are an older group and are just all about the fun.

    Good Luck.

I used to play on Khyber too but found moving over to Cannith to be a better fit as it's a newer server...been up for a few years now, but the atmosphere on Cannith seems a bit more relaxed to me.

    Default Hellstorm

    Welcome back to DDO!

If you don't mind switching over to Thelanis, you can also check out the Hellstorm website. It offers details on our guild, the gaming style of our members and membership requirements.
If it sounds like what you're looking for, send us an application and we can go from there.
We should take a torch to this place and burn all the Trolls.

Thank you all for your replies... I've checked some of the guild sites out, but not others.

I appreciate y'all reaching back so far (since I'm basically starting over).

My style of play is that I enjoy being whatever is needed in a party/group (except for a tank... hate that - primarily because I stink at it!).

I'm a casual player, not hardcore... well.. I'm hardcore that if I found a group that we "click", then I would play daily (I almost play daily anyway). I'm not overly serious (meaning, if I die, I don't care if we're having fun as a group).

I'd like to try some roleplay, but I have no idea how to start or get into it (I played tabletop D&D when it came out in the late 70s - and even once with Gary Gygax when he was in my hometown (RHS)).

Thanks again for the replies so far... if I'm online playing, I'm sure my character will be "Rathagos" or "Rathegos". Hit me up of I'm on the server and we'll see if we're a good fit for each other (okay... that sounds so wrong, but y'all know what I mean).

    Take care, all!

I went to the website you quoted (above) and got the following error: "Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed."

I don't know if that means on your system or mine?? I mean the site came up but clicking to give my information on the link near the bottom text of that site gave the error.

We're what is called a "Static" group. It means same people in group everytime, no one else, and can be found on Thelanis as the Guild "THAC0 Fellowship".
We role-play our characters (somewhat), but aren't heavy RP. Just think beer and pizza sitting around a tabletop game.
We are running an experiment to re-create a tabletop experience using what we can from DDO.
Progression is slow compared to what is going on currently in DDO.

As we're trying to do classic D&D, it's quite restrictive, but none of our players want to leave once they get into it.
We game once a week, Wednesday Night 6:30-8:30 CST.

We "meet" ingame and absolutely require voice-chat w/ mic.
Rather than run on....here's the link to our thread.

The thread's first entry is huge, but includes just about everything.

If is fits your style, post to that thread introducing yourself and contact me.

It means you have to select your default mail client to use with your web browser.

If you are using Firefox, you can set the default mail client by:
    1. Go to Tools.
    2. Go to Options.
    3. Go to Applications.
    4. You will see a list of applications on the left column. Scroll down the list until you see "mailto".
    5. Click on "mailto" in the left column and a pulldown menu will appear in the right column next to it.
    6. In the pulldown menu, select your default mail client.
    7. Click OK and you're done.

If you are using Internet Explorer:
    1. Go to Tools.
    2. Go to Internet Options.
    3. Go to Programs.
    4. Look for Email and select your default mail client.
    5. Click OK and you're done.

    Hope this helps.

Stormreach Thieves Guild on Khyber has players from North America, Australia, and many other places. You would find someone playing any time you log on.

    Default The Wulfepack - Sarlona

    Welcome back,

The Wulfepack on the Sarlona server is a lvl 55 guild that is made up of players mainly from USA, Canada, and the UK. There are players on at all times of the day but the bulk of players are on from about 5:30pm - 1:30am Central time.

You will find that we are an easy going guild with no drama and a love for the game. With over 40 players you should have no problem finding a group to play with at most times.

If you are interested send Blime an in game mail.

    Cheers,

    Blime

    Default recruitment

    Dear Prospect,
We are recruiting roleplayers. WE WILL NOT TOLERATE BERSERKERS or "ZERGS!" We are a medieval/military/Templar based roleplaying guild that has melded my ADnD 2nd addition "tabletop" campaign of over 20 years w/DDO's campaign.
I am a DM from ADnD 2nd addition and have been for over 20 years. Our guild is level 31 and has an airship w/all amenities, we are active, however we are recruiting more and more to increase the amount of active members so that at any time (24/7) anyone from our guild should be able to log on and find enough guild members to quest with (so as not to have to find strangers for that.)
If you are interested (and like minded enough) to roleplay 13th century Templar style, then contact me "Ghonja" on Thelanis server through the floating mailboxes and/or here/or at: guitarjohn707@yahoo.com
    Ghonja Flowingwater of Earth
