    Remember the Fighting Fantasy books?

Specifically the following paragraph: "To mark the anniversary, Australian firm Tin Man Games has bought the rights to publish iPhone and Android application versions of the Fighting Fantasy series. The first title will be released in September."

Very cool. I used to collect those books when I was a kid.

I don't ever recall seeing those in the U.S.

But we did have "Choose your own adventure" Books. Science fiction, 70s B movies, Indiana Jones type... all sort of styles in that setup.

Closest style to those I've seen in any gaming recently are dating sims. Not my style to want to play even if I like that simple choose and go setup. So that is cool that they are getting a revival.

As a kid, I was a little thief. A good little thief actually -- comic books pinned high on a wall or behind the counter...I'd snag em. Learned to pick locks even. I'd also steal these fighting fantasy books. I had em all, or nearly all of em. I was out commiting crime....to read. Lol. That's kinda sad.

I found a box of these at my parents house a few months ago. I flipped through a few. Man, they were pretty poorly written...but I still have fond memories. A number of them even had character sheets you filled out in the front. Kinda like D&D lite.

That's the bit that has me the most worried....should you leave childhood memories where they are? Or risk crushing disappointment and try them again anyway?

If they are faithfully recreated, I see no issues.

If they change outcomes, flip them the bird. Star Wars comes to mind.
