Default Shared bank destroyed collectables bag

I reported this Saturday morning and have been unable to log back in to check (because of travel, not a Turbine problem) but I don't want too much time to pass if this is the better place.

It was one of 3 collectables bags, it was the one with all of my cove ingredients, including hundreds of green dragonshards. It happened on Khyber at 10:50. Lag was actually less than normal, and I was not moving at all. I waited for 1/4 hour without moving to see if it would return, it did not. I checked the buy-back, it wasn't there.

Please return my bag and its contents.
    Thank you.

Understand that I'm not saying this is how it should work or that it's good. In fact it's bad. What is also a fact is that it's unlikely Turbine will do anything about it.

By trying to transfer the bag between the bank and you, you moved before the transfer was completed. It's a long known issue by players that I do not believe has been acknowledged by Turbine.

I understand you say you waited. But if you moved too far away the window could still have been open and the item destroyed. The number one item(s) to do when transferring between the bank and your character is to be darn close to the banker and never move until the transfer is complete.

Question, was it a medium collectibles bag, the kind that say exclusive, and did you have another exclusive medium bag in your inventory? If so you may log in to find you have mail.

Check your mail, you should have a message from "lost and found" that contains your bag with all of it's contents.

It is a "knwon issue" that Turbine has acknowledged.... Madfloyd talked aobu *** late last year. And they even started eturing lost ingredients bags for a while. You had to submit a ticket to customer support with toon information, date, and approximate time. When they were actually returning them it took 1-3 weeks for them to find it on back-up and return it. But I haven't seen anything mentioned aobut returned bags in about 4 or 5 months now... They may've stopped, as there is another recent thread by a player saying he's been waiting for well over a month with barely a word out of Turbine.

There is absolutely no excuse, with them selling bags IE: storage devices for the equivalant of real money, and with the amount of items that can go into those items and the amount of time tha can be invovled in collecting those items, for them NOT to return any lost bags.

They CAN return those bags.... If they want to.....

If you tried to move an exclusive bag into your inventory, when you had another exclusive bag in your inventory, then there is a current known issue where the bag being moved into your inventory can disappear. However, if this happens, you should get the bag returned to you within about 12-hours. It'll arrive through the in-game mail. You'll need to move whatever exclusive bag is conflicting in your inventory into your character or shared bank in order to detach the other bag from your in-game mail. This is a short term fix; a longer-term fix is in the works.

I clearly stated in my post that I had not moved, and that I in fact did not move for 1/4 of an hour after the disappearance. I am well aware of the long standing nature of this bug. On what do you base your assertion that I moved?

It was a medium, and no, I did not have one already in my possession. I lost a medium in 2011 when I bought one while I had one already on a different page, and I've been very careful to always put them on a single inventory page ever since. But I'd recently had a different one in inventory so perhaps transaction latency made it appear as if the recently moved bag was still in inventory?

Regardless of the underlying mechanics, my bag, and its contents, came by in-game mail today, 1 working day after the loss . The efforts of myself and the kobold miners under my protection was not in vain!

    Thank you, Turbine!

Oh, and to anyone else who has this problem and sees my post, I did promptly submit a ticket with a detailed account of the incident including /loc, time of day, server, character, and bag contents. I also logged out immediately after submitting the ticket, and did not log back in for more than a full day - I don't know if that made a difference, but that's what I did and I got my bag back.

Good news on both fronts, thanks for sharing. And thanks for your earlier post on "kid gloves for the new kid on QA", I was extra polite in my original ticket because you'd given us the heads up.

And did I mention, thank you Turbine?

Because it happens, and sometimes players don't even realize it.

But glad to hear that it's back and this "sent in the mail" thing is new to me. I'm not sure how that escaped my attention.
