    Question FvS/Monk Balance

Ive been reading up on some FvS/Monk 18/2 builds and have a question i was hoping someone could help me with....

If you create a Elf/HElf build and dual-wield scimitars, how do you keep the Monk "Centered" or dont you? Ive noticed people have listed builds like this and inlcude their Monk AC bonus, even though theyre wielding non Monk weapons....

You don't stay centered with scimitars. People will get kamas with caster attributes to stay centered when not meleeing.

I thought you kept the AC bonus even when uncentered and that's it?

Thx for the feedback, ive noticed youre the person to ask abotu FvS :-)

Then why are people inlcuding their AC bonus in their builds with Scims?

Can you recommend a good FvS build for me (will be 36pt build, access to all tomes etc). Was thinking WF for THF but now not sure if a FvS/Monk split is the way to go......quite confused. Would like good DC's but able to weild a weapon too

    :-)

The monk AC bonus requires you to be defensively centered, which is a bit different that normal centered. Defensively centered only requires that you being wearing robes/outfits, and not encumbered.

Three main reasons to splash Monk:

    1) 2 feats, often critical for fitting in I/GTWF.
    2) Evasion
    3) Wisdom bonus from Water stance.

The wis bonus requires being in stance, which requires being centered.

With U14, the PRR change means that you're probably unlikely to get as much defensive benefit from being a monk in PJs vs wearing mithril FP or another nice medium armor. So presence or absence of wis-to-AC isn't too meaningful.
