TR and Stat Tomes

Some question on Stat Tomes persisting through TR:
- I'm assuming tome bonuses are suppressed until you meet the level prereq?
- If so, do the tomes reapply at the same level that you were at when you ate the tome (as they do when you lesser), or at the minimum level for that bonus?
- Does the system track if you had lower quality tomes at low levels (most significant for Int), or does it forget about all but your highest quality bonus?

Basically, I have a mid-level character who has not yet eaten tomes in several stats, and I'm trying to gauge whether I should apply tomes that will help me now as I can afford them, or whether I should hold all but the most essential tomes until my next life so that future lives can have their bonuses back as early as possible. Here's how it works. Assume you eat a +3 tome at any point in that characters life past the minimum required level. On your next life you will get a +1 to that stat at level 3 then a +2 at level 7 and finally a +3 at level 11. So the higher level tome will actually act like you get the lower level ones while you level up.
